Jack Cartwheel spent the last few months stuck on the sidelines with an arm injury, waiting on answers and promising he would come back stronger. Now that comeback is official, and AAA isn’t exactly giving him a soft landing.

WWE took to Twitter and confirmed that Cartwheel will return to the ring on the July 11 edition of AAA, where he will face Mini Vikingo and Dragon Lee in a three-way match with a shot at Rey Fenix’s AAA Cruiserweight Championship on the line at Verano de Escándalo.

That means Cartwheel is going from months of uncertainty straight into a match that could put him right back in the title picture.

“Three incredible high-flyers. One title opportunity. Mini Vikingo, @dragonlee95 and @jackcartwheel battle to become the No. 1 Contender for Rey Fenix’s AAA Cruiserweight Championship at Verano de Escandalo. @LuchaLibreAAA airs TOMORROW at 10e/7p on FOX in Latin America and on Facebook & YouTube everywhere else.”

The announcement finally gives fans an answer after Cartwheel revealed back in April that an arm injury had stopped his momentum and forced him out of action. At the time, he was waiting on an MRI and made no attempt to hide how much he hated being away from the ring.

“🚨Injury Update🚨 Hello everyone! I’m in high spirits, Going to have to do more than take away my arm to break my momentum. I will be paused However, I have an MRI scheduled for next week. I hate sitting out, I hate missing out, I don’t like to take things easy. I Will be back.”

The return also drops Cartwheel back into familiar territory. His last AAA appearance came on March 14, when he competed in a four-way match against Laredo Kid, Dragon Lee, and TJ Perkins for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. The injury stopped that run cold, but one win on July 11 could put him right back where he left off.

After months of waiting, Cartwheel finally gets to stop talking about returning and start showing what he still has. If he can survive Mini Vikingo and Dragon Lee, his first match back could end with a title shot already in his hands.
