Jack Cartwheel may have come up short in his biggest matches this month, but those performances reportedly accomplished exactly what they needed to. According to a new backstage report, WWE officials have been taking notice of the AAA standout over the past couple of weeks.
Viper Reports states that Cartwheel has received praise from WWE higher-ups for his recent work, specifically pointing to his performances at AAA TripleMania XXXIV Night Two and WWE Worlds Collide.
Cartwheel first impressed at TripleMania on September 13, where he challenged Rey Fenix for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship in a Fatal 4-Way that also included Nathan Frazer and Mini Vikingo. While Fenix retained the title, Cartwheel’s athletic performance left a positive impression backstage.
Less than two weeks later, Cartwheel was back on another major stage, facing Dragon Lee at WWE Worlds Collide. Dragon Lee got the win, but according to the report, that match only added to the praise Cartwheel has been receiving internally.
Cartwheel returned from injury earlier this year and has quickly become one of the more prominent names featured through WWE’s AAA partnership. If the latest backstage reaction is any indication, those recent performances have done more than entertain fans—they’ve also put him firmly on the radar of people behind the scenes.
