Wrestling legend Tiger Jeet Singh returned to Japan after 14 years away, and things got completely out of hand when he struck a fan in the head with his sword. The 82-year-old wrestling veteran left the man bleeding and needing an ambulance during a live event in Tokyo. But instead of apologizing, Singh blamed the injured fan for not getting out of his way.

The incident happened on October 17, 2026, during Megumi Kudo’s 40th anniversary wrestling show at Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo. Singh, who became one of Japan’s most notorious villains during his wrestling career, was serving as a special observer for a tag team match featuring Tatsumi Fujinami and Masakatsu Funaki against Mitsuya Nagai and Shiro Koshinaka.

Singh made his entrance alongside his son, former WWE wrestler Tiger Ali Singh, and his grandson. Everything seemed to be going as planned until Singh charged toward the crowd with his trademark saber and started swinging it around. According to Sports Hochi, he struck a male spectator in the forehead, leaving him bleeding.

The injured fan was taken backstage for emergency treatment before being transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, the wound wasn’t deep, and the man suffered only minor injuries. He received treatment to prevent infection and was eventually able to return to the arena, pick up his car and drive himself home.

But Singh wasn’t exactly losing sleep over what happened. Speaking to Tokyo Sports after the incident, the wrestling legend made it clear that he believed the fan was responsible for getting hit.

“It was a mistake for him to be in front of me. It’s his fault. You know that, right? All he had to do was get out of my way.”

His son, Tiger Ali Singh, didn’t exactly disagree. The former WWE star pointed out that announcements had been made warning spectators to be careful, arguing that the injured man should have moved when his father approached with the sword.

“The announcer was saying, ‘Please be careful!’ They were warning him it was dangerous, but he didn’t move out of the way. I’m sure he won’t make the same mistake again. Just like my father said, this was an accident.”

The show’s organizer, Megumi Kudo, took a different approach and apologized for the incident. The event was supposed to celebrate her 40 years in professional wrestling, but Singh’s entrance ended up becoming one of the biggest stories coming out of the show.

Singh has a long history of terrorizing crowds in Japan, particularly during his famous rivalry with Antonio Inoki. Charging toward spectators with his saber was part of what made him one of the country’s most feared wrestling villains during the 1970s and 1980s. Apparently, turning 82 hasn’t changed his approach.

The good news is that the fan escaped without serious injuries. The bad news is that Singh doesn’t seem particularly interested in taking responsibility for what happened. His first appearance in Japan in 14 years ended with someone being rushed to the hospital, and he’s still insisting the guy should have known better than to stand in his way.

Do you think Tiger Jeet Singh went too far with his entrance, or should the fan have moved when he saw the sword coming? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
