King of the Ring

I talked about this recently in another blog, but it seems pretty obvious to me that looking at the WWE’s recent obsession and, in fairness, success with recent tournaments, that the return of King of the Ring to the PPV schedule is an obvious choice.

With such a large roster, it seems a waste that a lot of them don’t ever really get the chance to show off their talents on a big stage, and holding it in a more intimate setting, at least for the first round, would be a great way to get a lot of superstars who are struggling on television over.

What’s more, the company could hold this over the course of a 3 day weekend, with the initial rounds taking place on a Friday, the quarterfinals on a Saturday and the finals on Sunday night. Holding it over labour day weekend, just after Summerslam, would be a nice way to set up the number 1 contender for Survivor Series as well, giving some much-needed hype back to a struggling event.
