Austin Aries had a very solid run in TNA Wrestling, but it came to a crashing halt at Bound For Glory 2018, which was the last time fans ever saw him compete in the promotion. Fans had assumed he would never return to TNA ever again but appears that Aries had talks with TNA about a return not too long ago.

While speaking to The Soul Sessions, Austin Aries was asked about his future in professional wrestling and whether he has any interest in signing a deal with a major company again.

The former Impact World Champion mentioned that he is open to conversations if there is interest and confirmed having brief talks with TNA Wrestling over the past few months about the door being open for a potential return. However, he stated that it all comes down to timing and remains uncertain about what the future holds.

“I’m not opposed to having conversations if there’s interest anywhere. I had some brief conversations with TNA in the last three or four months about the door being open. It’s just a timing thing, so we’ll see what the future holds.”

Austin Aries’ exit from TNA Wrestling in 2018 remains one of the most controversial departures in the company’s history. After all, he completely no-sold John Morrison’s finisher after losing the Impact World Title as he immediately got back up, left the ring and gave the middle finger to several Impact execs who happened to be around, including Don Callis. Aries would go on to state that the whole situation was nothing but a work.

With Aries confirming that talks have happened, there’s a chance he could return to TNA. It all depends on the right timing and circumstances, so fans are waiting to see what happens next.
