AEW brought Worlds End 2024 to fans, live from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando. There were a lot of things going on in the packed pay-per-view, and even though Swerve Strickland wasn’t booked in a match, he still found a featured spot on the show.
Fans closely followed the 2024 Continental Classic round-robin tournament, which concluded during AEW’s final pay-per-view of the year. The semifinals went down in the opening two matches of the night, and Ricochet stuck around after his match.
In the semifinals, Will Ospreay faced Kyle Fletcher. They kicked off the night with a hard-fought match. Ospreay, despite bleeding heavily, managed to secure the win. The other semifinal saw Ricochet take on Kazuchika Okada. Ricochet faced a hostile crowd, who trolled him in a big way, but Okada pulled off the victory. That set up the finals for later in the night.
After Ricochet lost his match, he stayed around as Swerve Strickland came out to troll him. Strickland had a lot to say as he cut a promo at the One And Only.
In recent memory, AEW fans have pelted Ricochet with toilet paper. This has happened on more than one occasion, and now we can add Worlds End to that list.
Swerve Strickland had toilet paper handed out to the crowd, and then he encouraged everyone to wish Ricochet a happy new year by throwing their rolls at him. In the end, Ricochet was covered in white bathroom tissue, and he didn’t look very amused.
We will have to see what is next for Ricochet in the months to come. After all, he is getting a lot of heat right now, but being covered in toilet paper may not have been what he had in mind.
