CM Punk, who famously left WWE after the 2014 Royal Rumble and said he would never return, surprised fans with his comeback at the 2023 Survivor Series Premium Live Event. While many are excited to see him back, Disco Inferno has claimed that Punk is more of a loner backstage in WWE.

While speaking on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno talked about CM Punk and Seth Rollins’ recent promo battle during the December 16 episode of RAW. During the conversation, Disco Inferno claimed that he was told CM Punk mostly keeps to himself backstage in WWE. Punk is still dealing with some bad feelings from his past actions and is trying to fix his reputation.

Inferno stated that Punk never hangs out with a faction and while he gets along with everyone in the locker room, Punk doesn’t have any close friends. It was claimed that Punk is friendly with everyone but doesn’t have a specific group he sticks with, suggesting Punk is a loner. It was also added that he does get glowing reviews backstage.

“There is a level of disdain that Punk faces from his previous actions, and he’s basically there to rehabilitate himself. I’ve been told he doesn’t really have a lot of friends there. He doesn’t have a faction he hangs out with. He dresses in the locker room with all the boys and is just cool with everybody, but he doesn’t have a specific group of guys he hangs with. He’s just cool with everybody. But yeah he’s getting glowing results backstage.”

As previously reported, WWE has been very pleased with CM Punk’s run since his return, and things have been going smoothly. It’s clear that The Second City Saint has developed a lot of trust within the company and that’s what matters the most at the moment.

Regarding the CM Punk and Seth Rollins’ feud, they are finally set to square off against each other on the January 6, 2025 debut of Monday Night RAW on Netflix, in what is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated matches in recent memory. Therefore, he is more focused on that at the moment as fans want Punk to have a great 2025, so we’ll have to see how next year pans out for him.
