TNA is currently undergoing a lot of changes as the past few days have seen the departure of several key talent, which has surprised fans in a big way and now the reason behind the departure of so many talent has been revealed.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that more departures could be coming. Meltzer noted that many stars, including Rhino, were asked to take pay cuts, which contributed to his decision to leave.

“Yeah, there may be more coming. One of the things that happened was a lot of the talent was asked to take pay cuts, I don’t know how many, that was among the reasons Rhino left. So he left. His last match would have been on Saturday.”

The news of exits began just before Final Resolution when Hall of Famer Rhino announced that the weekend would be his last appearance in a TNA ring. He clarified that he wasn’t retiring, but was done with the promotion. On December 17, more departures were reported in quick succession. Along with international stars Trent Seven and KUSHIDA, ring announcer Jade Chung also confirmed she wouldn’t be renewing her contract.

In a previous interview, Chung’s husband and former World Champion Josh Alexander revealed he would become a free agent in February. It was also reported that TNA star AJ Francis’ contract was nearing expiration and he could also become a free agent at the end of the year.

With financial changes leading to these departures, TNA’s talent roster could continue to see shifts in the near future. Fans are left wondering how these changes will affect the promotion’s direction in 2025.
