Kevin Owens turned heads during the December 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, but it wasn’t just fans who loved his unconventional antics—WWE officials were reportedly just as impressed.
According to Fightful Select, Owens’ segment with Michael Cole, conducted from the backseat of his rental car outside the Target Center, was “well received” backstage.
In typical Owens fashion, the setup was anything but ordinary. Explaining his decision to avoid entering the Target Center due to past run-ins with WWE security, Owens invited Cole to join him in his car for an interview. The unique segment delivered a mix of comedy and personality, leaving those within WWE praising the creativity and Owens’ ability to pull off something so unexpected. One standout moment from the segment became a fan favorite, quickly circulating on social media.
Later in the night, Owens abandoned his boycott of the Target Center, appearing at the end of SmackDown to attack Cody Rhodes’ injured ankle following Rhodes’ victory over Chad Gable. The attack added a vicious exclamation point to the night and heightened anticipation for their Undisputed WWE Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.
With praise from fans and WWE officials alike, Owens continues to cement his reputation as one of the most entertaining and versatile superstars on the roster.
