It’s Monday night, and you know what that means! The Season Premiere episode of WWE RAW will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the September 9, 2024 episode.
The start time for WWE RAW is 8:00 PM EST. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.
The show opens up with a shot of the exterior of the host venue. We then get a shot of “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre walking in the empty venue earlier in the day followed by separate shots of WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill arriving at the arena and a backstage shot of The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn).
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett then welcomes us to the show and Tessitore announces the appearance of WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart for later tonight. Tessitore then sends us to a video package that recapped the feud between The Wyatt Sicks and American Made.
We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is an 8-Person Mixed Tag Team Street Fight.
The match starts off with Nikki Cross wasting no time in going after Ivy Nile as everyone else begins brawling with each other. Cross then sends Nile’s head bouncing off the ring apron and Chad Gable sends Dexter Lumis crashing into the ring steps. Cross then places a garbage can over Nile’s head and hits it with a kendo stick repeatedly, then sends her crashing into the barricade and follows it up with a dropkick as Joe Gacy and Brutus Creed brawl on the ring apron and Erick Rowan sends Julius Creed’s face bouncing off the ring apron. Gacy then hits a suplex on Brutus and Lumis sends Gable crashing into the mat in the center of the ring. Nile then sends Cross crashing into the announce desk face first, then sends her crashing over it as Gacy delivers some stomps on Brutus in the corner and Lumis looks to fly off the ring steps to land on Gable. Gable then hits Lumis in the midsection with a kendo stick mid-air, then hits Gacy with it. Gable then looks to do the same to Rowan, but Rowan stays standing and hits a headbutt on Gable. The Creed Brothers then deliver some right hands on Rowan’s spine, but Rowan hits them both with a double suplex and runs over Gable.
Uncle Howdy then watches from his rocking chair on the ramp as Rowan sets up a table on the outside. Gable then sprays a fire extinguisher on Rowan’s face and American Made sends him crashing through the table he set up. American Made then piles up chairs on top of Rowan as Gable sends Lumis crashing into the one he set up in the ring. Julius and Gable then hit him with kendo sticks and Gable looks to use a chair on him, but Lumis hits Gable with a suplex and a leg drop. Lumis then sets a table up on the outside as Gacy nails The Creed Brothers with The Upside Down. Lumis then sets Gable up on the table and Julius hits Gacy with a kendo stick. Julius then hits a back elbow on Lumis, then joins Gable and Brutus in hitting Gacy with kendo sticks as a trash can has been put on his head. Nile then slides a chair in the ring and goes under it to retrieve more weapons, but Cross slides out from under it to surprise Nile. Cross then hits Nile repeatedly with a kendo stick, then nails a crossbody on Nile that sends her crashing over the announce desk. Julius then sends Gacy crashing into the corner still with the trash can on his head and grabs another table from under the ring. Julius then slides it inside and Brutus sets it up for him. Rowan then breaks free from the pile of chairs on the outside and nails The Creed Brothers, then kicks down one of the barricades near the timekeeper’s area and uses it to nail the Creed Brothers and Gable.
Rowan then hits Brutus with a uranage and goes for a pin, but American Made breaks the fall and Gable sets up a chair in the corner. Gable then looks to jump Rowan, but Rowan sees him coming and charges at him. Gable then sends Rowan crashing into the chair and The Creed Brothers clothesline Rowan out of the ring where Gable is waiting with a German suplex. Brutus then hits a Brutus Ball on Rowan off the ropes, but Gacy flies out of nowhere to land on Gable and Lumis hits a Swanton Bomb off the apron to take down The Creed Brothers. Gacy and Lumis then hit a double chokeslam on The Creed Brothers back in the ring and Gacy powerbombs Lumis on top of Julius. Gacy then sets Brutus up on a table on the outside and Lumis flies off the ropes to send him crashing through it. Gacy then hits Gable with a clothesline and places him on a table that’s been set up. Gacy then climbs to the top and Gable joins him up there and sends him crashing through it with an Angle Slam. Gable then cinches in an Ankle Lock on Gacy as Nile repeatedly hits him with a kendo stick. Cross then pulls Nile out of the ring and hits a German suplex on Gable, then delivers a hanging twisting neckbreaker on Nile on top of the pile of chairs on the outside. Gable then notices Uncle Howdy. Rowan then runs Gable over and sends him crashing on top of the ring steps, then sends him back in the ring. Uncle Howdy then hits a Sister Abigail on Gable and Lumis follows it up with an assisted Frog Splash with Rowan’s aid and pins Gable for the win.

We then get a video package for WWE Week on the USA Network.
Joe Tessitore then speaks at ringside and says that RAW will run for two hours starting October 7th and will have a season finale on December 30th. Tessitore also says the show will run from 8-10PM ET.
Commentary then announces Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at the Bad Blood PLE that will be held on Saturday, October 5th in Atlanta.
WWE World Tag Team Champion Finn Bálor of The Judgment Day then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.
Bálor starts off by telling Damian Priest that it didn’t have to be this way. Bálor then says that Priest screwed The Judgment Day and he tried helping Priest when he joined the group. Bálor then says Priest held him down the more he tried doing so and he was his friend, brother, the guy who had his back and the guy who made sure he stayed World Heavyweight Champion. Bálor then says he would have become World Heavyweight Champion if Priest hadn’t held the Men’s Money In The Bank briefcase, then calls Priest down to the ring to say some things to his face. Priest’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Priest tells Bálor that he has ran every time he has wanted to get his hands on Bálor since breaking up the real Judgment Day. Priest then warns Bálor that he will beat him down as soon as he says what he needs to say and Bálor tells Priest that he is no longer his sidekick. Bálor then says Priest and Ripley will fall on the same night as he wants a match against him at WWE Bad Blood and Priest accepts.
Priest then nails Bálor, but Carlito and JD McDonagh look to blindside Priest. Priest then sees them coming and Dominik Mysterio looks to fly off the top rope. Priest then intercepts him, but Bálor, McDonagh and Carlito save him and the four men beat Priest down. Rhea Ripley’s music then hits and she makes her way out with her crutch still in hand. Liv Morgan then looks to blindside Ripley, but Ripley sees her coming and uses her crutch. Dominik then grabs it, but Ripley beats him down with it. Morgan then hits Ripley with a chop block and uses her crutch to continue attacking Ripley’s knee as the rest of Judgment Day continues beating down Priest. Dominik then uses the crutch to hit Priest with it and Bálor sets up for a Coup De Grace on him, but Jey Uso makes his way down to the ring with a chair in hand to even the odds and checks on Ripley and Priest, while The Judgment Day poses at ringside.
Tessitore and Barrett then speaks at ringside and recaps Braun Strowman beating hit with a Bronson Reed Tsunami on a car two weeks ago and then coming back to win a qualifying match for tonight’s WWE Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match.
We then head to the back, where Jackie Redmond is interviewing Braun Strowman. Strowman says working last week’s match didn’t help with his injuries. Strowman then says a wounded monster is even more dangerous. Bron Breakker then enters the ring and says Strowman is a monster. Breakker then says he will show the world that you don’t have to be Strowman’s size to be a monster. Breakker then says the only reason Strowman is still standing is that he hasn’t been in the ring with him. Breakker then says he hopes Strowman wins the Fatal 4-Way and he will see him around.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match.
The match starts off with Belair and Fyre. Belair runs over Fyre with a shoulder tackle, then sends her into the corner and hits her with a bodyslam. Cargill then tags in and hits a double shoulder tackle on Fyre with Belair. Belair and Cargill then send Fyre and Dawn crashing out of the ring, but Fyre and Dawn quickly recover. Cargill then tags in and hits a back elbow on Fyre in the corner. Cargill then looks to hit one on Dawn, but Dawn avoids it and Cargill is sent crashing into the corner. Dawn then looks to deliver some right hands on Cargill in the corner, but Cargill pulls her off and sends her crashing into the mat. Fyre then tags in and he pins Cargill, but Cargill kicks out. Dawn and Belair then tag in and Belair hits Dawn with a couple of shoulder tackles. Belair then follows it up with a dropkick on Dawn and a delayed vertical suplex on Fyre, then hits a shoulder on Dawn’s midsection and deliver some right hands on her in the corner. Belair then hits a crossbody on Dawn and Fyre off the middle rope before hitting a springboard moonsault on Dawn and going for a pin, but Dawn kicks out.
Fyre then makes the blind tag and Dawn hits a forearm on Belair. Fyre then climbs to the top, but Belair sends Dawn crashing into Fyre and joins Fyre on the top. Dawn then tags in and hits a double powerbomb on Belair with Fyre. Fyre then tags back in and looks to hit a double suplex on Belair with Dawn, but Cargill saves Belair. Belair then rolls up Fyre, but Fyre kicks out. Dawn then tags back in and The Unholy Union hits the Gory Bomb-facebuster combination. Dawn then goes for a pin, but Cargill breaks the fall. Cargill and Fyre then tag in and Cargill hits Fyre with a pump kick. Belair and Cargill then hit the DDT-assisted German suplex combination for the win.

Commentary then speaks at ringside. Tessitore says Damian Priest was taken to a local medical facility and was accompanied by Rhea Ripley.
We then head to the back, where Jackie Redmond is interviewing LWO (WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Zelina Vega, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde). Lee talks about his match with Dominik Mysterio. The Judgment Day then shows up and Rey ends up bickering with Bálor and Dominik. Rey tells Bálor to stop hiding behind his son and face him in a match. Bálor then agrees to face Rey.
WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart was then shown walking through the backstage area.
Tessitore and Barrett then stands inside the ring. Tessitore asks the viewers is they wanted to hear the venue roar and then he introduces Bret Hart. The fans pops as Bret Hart is making his way down to the ring. Tessitore tells the Calgary crowd that Bret is back. Tessitore then plugs the Survivor Series tickets going on sale this week, with the show taking place in Vancouver. Barrett then asks Bret how great it feels to be at home in Calgary. Bret talks about being a champion and also being a Canadian champion. Hart says Canadian champions will take on anyone because they had to prove themselves, just as he did for over twenty years to be the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion “The Ring General” GUNTHER’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. GUNTHER says he is about to pour his heart out to one of his childhood heroes and everyone watched Hart growing up. GUNTHER then says Hart will always be a close second to his all time favorite, Bill Goldberg.
Sami Zayn’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring in a Calgary Flames jersey. Zayn tells GUNTHER he has a lot of nerve standing in Calgary talking to Hart in the manner he just did. Zayn then asks if GUNTHER thinks this is a joke, then says Hart is a Canadian hero, a hero to everyone in Calgary, a hero to an entire generation in the back and a hero to him. Zayn then says while GUNTHER may be World Heavyweight Champion, Hart set the tone for what it means to be a champion. Zayn then say GUNTHER ran away as soon as he challenged him for a title match last week, then tells him to prove that he is the best he says he is. Zayn then challenges GUNTHER to a World Heavyweight Championship match once again and GUNTHER tells Zayn that he’s far from being in the same league as Hart after telling Hart that he’s not in his league. GUNTHER then denies giving Zayn a shot at his title. Hart then calls GUNTHER a coward as he leaves and Zayn stares GUNTHER down on the ramp. GUNTHER then looks to deliver a right hand on Zayn, but Zayn sees it coming and delivers several of his own. Zayn then sends GUNTHER crashing into the ring post and delivers more right hands on him before a couple of officials appear to break the two men apart. Hart then shakes Zayn’s hand and holds it up before Zayn hugs Hart.
We then head to the back, where Bron Breakker was about to say he didn’t know what to think of Pete Dunne when he was called Butch but Dunne stopped him. Dunne then says he will beat Trick Williams and win the NXT Title, and become a double champion by beating Breakker for the Intercontinental Title. Breakker then drops a line about the dogs barking loudly in Canada and then wishes Dunne good luck. Sheamus then shows up and attacks Dunne until security intervenes just long enough for Dunne to get away.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
The match starts off with Lee tackling Dominik and delivering some right hands on him, then looks to lock in a Half Boston Crab. Dominik then makes it to the bottom rope before Lee can, but Lee hits Dominik with a rolling Death Valley Driver and climbs to the top. Lee then looks to fly, but Dominik intercepts him with a dropkick. Dominik then sends Lee out of the ring and gloats. Lee then hits a hurricanrana on Dominik and follows it up with a boot in the corner over the top rope and from the apron, then hits a dropkick on him and goes for a pin. Dominik then kicks out and hits a Michinoku Driver on Lee, then goes for a pin but Lee kicks out. Lee then hits a sit-out powerbomb on Dominik and goes for a pin of his own, but Dominik kicks out. Lee then climbs to the top, but Dominik hits him with a right hand and joins him up there. Lee then drapes Dominik by his knee and hits him with a double stomp, then goes for a pin. JD McDonagh then places Dominik’s foot on the bottom rope and Rey Mysterio confronts him. LWO and Judgment Day then begin brawling with each other to the back, opening the door for Morgan to hit a chop block on Lee while the referee is distracted. Dominik then dials it up for a 619 on Lee and follows it up with a Frog Splash for the win.

We then head to the back and see a verbal confrontation between Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Damage CTRL, with Damage CTRL putting Belair and Cargill on notice for their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Pure Fusion Collective (Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark and Sonya Deville) then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night, which is a 6-Woman Tag Team Match. Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega and Natalya then make their way down to the ring next.
The match starts off with Vega and Stark. Baszler hits a kick on Vega’s chest off the top and Stark hits Vega with a crossbody over the top to land on her. Stark then hits a suplex on Vega and sends her out of the ring. Baszler then tags in and gets Vega up on her shoulders, but Vega escapes and sends Baszler crashing into the ring skirt. Stark and Natalya then tag in and Natalya hits a series of right hands on Stark. Stark then looks to hits a splash on Natalya in the corner, but Natalya sees her coming and takes her down. Stark then looks to respond with a kick, but Natalya escapes and looks to lock in a Sharpshooter. Deville and Baszler then save Stark, but Vega and Valkyria take her down. Natalya and Stark then pin each other, but both women kick out. Natalya then looks to cinch in the Sharpshooter on Stark once again, but Deville and Baszler looks to prevent her from doing so again. Valkyria and Vega then intercept them with Sharpshooters of their own as Natalya locks one in on Stark and Stark taps out.

Drew McIntyre is then shown walking backstage. We then see McIntyre come across Alpha Academy (Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri), who are admiring a Calgary Flames replica title belt.
Natalya was then shown talking backstage with Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria when Bret Hart shows up and hugs his niece.
“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.
McIntyre starts off by encouraging fans to chant for CM Punk and says every time they do so, it’s in memory of him. McIntyre then recalls Punk discussing beating him in their Strap Match last week, then complains about Punk screwing him out of the World Heavyweight Championship three times. McIntyre then gloats about pinning Punk at SummerSlam, then says they aren’t done just because Punk touched the four corners. McIntyre then says he made Punk a bigger star and he can live with that given that he ended Punk’s career. McIntyre then says it’s now to talk about the future and he is looking ahead to the World Heavyweight Championship and his new movie coming out. McIntyre then says he’s afraid he’s got some bad news with the business he has to cover, then addresses Wade Barrett at ringside. McIntyre then tells Barrett he doesn’t have many friends left in the wrestling business and recalls their long history with one another including defending his actions on commentary. McIntyre then questions why Barrett did what he did last week and says he’s disappointed, then exits the ring towards Barrett and warns him against doing something like that again. McIntyre then says he’ll be angry and do something about it if Barrett intervenes again in his business.
RAW General Manager Adam Pearce then makes his way down to ringside and asks McIntyre if he really wants to fight with Barrett and McIntyre tells Pearce to get to the point. Pearce then reveals that he spoke to Punk earlier today and says Punk isn’t done with McIntyre. McIntyre then tells Pearce that he doesn’t believe him after what he did to Punk last week and Pearce informs McIntyre that he will be facing Punk one more time at Bad Blood in a Hell In A Cell Match. Pearce then drops the mic and exits the ring, while McIntyre looks unhappy.
We then head to the back, where we see Karrion Kross having a conversation with The Miz and offering to help him out of his rut. Xavier Woods then shows up and asks Kross what his angle is. Kross says they are just having a conversation and wishes Woods luck with the Kofi Kingston situation. After Kross leaves, Miz tells Woods that he invented the game Kross is trying to play. Miz then concedes that he is in a rut. After Miz leaves, Kingston shows up and informs Woods that he got them a shot at the WWE World Tag Team Titles. Woods then puts on Bret Hart’s shades and says they will walk into their tenth anniversary in November as the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match and Finn Bálor follows.
The match starts off with both men going back and forth with each other. Bálor then jams his elbow into the back of Rey’s neck using the middle rope for leverage, then nails him with a series of stomps on his chest and delivers some right hands on him in the corner. Rey then trips Bálor, then hits him with a hurricanrana and dropkicks him out of the ring before flying over the top rope to land on him. Bálor then has a sleeper locked in on Rey. Rey then responds with a kick on Bálor’s face, then sends him crashing out of the ring and hits him with a splash under the bottom rope. Rey then sends Bálor back in the ring and climbs to the top, then hits him with a senton and a springboard crossbody. Rey then looks to dial it up for a 619, but Bálor intercepts Rey and catapults him into the top rope. Bálor then uses the middle rope to wear down Rey’s knee with a Half Boston Crab and the referee calls for the bell after Bálor refuses to release the hold.

After the match, Bálor sends Rey crashing into the ring post. Bálor then heads to the back, but runs back down the ramp and dropkicks Rey into one of the ring skirts with the screen featuring the RAW logo on it. Bálor then tells Rey that there’s more where that came from and then heads to the back.
We then head to the back, where Ilja Dragunov is being interviewed by Jackie Redmond. Dragunov credits Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley for giving him a fair shot in his qualifying match because they fought off The Judgment Day. Dragunov then brings up having unfinished business with Bron Breakker, who shows up and says they don’t have unfinished business because he already beat him. Breakker then says he can beat him again. Jey Uso then shows up and glares at Breakker. Jey then walks away and says he is now in their city and calls for his music to play before he adds “yeet.” Jey then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night, which is a WWE Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match.
We then get a video promo from The Judgment Day. Finn Bálor is speaking while the other members were standing behind him. Bálor says he hopes everyone is watching tonight because they got a message from The Judgment Day. The other members then spoke briefly.
The lineup for tomorrow’s episode of WWE NXT and next week’s episode of WWE RAW is then announced.
Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne and Braun Strowman then make their way down to the ring for the main event.
The match starts off with Strowman beginning to brawl with Dragunov as Jey goes after Dunne. Dunne then hits a kick on Strowman, but Strowman sends Dunne out of the ring and charges at him. Dunne then moves out of the way and inadvertently low bridges the top rope for Jey to fly over it and land on Strowman on the outside. Dragunov then hits a German suplex and a jumping knee on Dunne. Dragunov then follows it up with a running boot, but turns around into an enzuigiri from Jey. Strowman then looks to send Dunne crashing into the mat, but Dunne snaps his fingers to escape. Strowman then sends Dunne on top of Jey and Dragunov on the outside to take them down. Strowman has the upper hand on Jey, Dragunov and Dunne. Jey then low bridges Dragunov out of the ring, then hits an open palm strike on Dunne before following it up with an enzuigiri. Dunne, Dragunov and Jey then work together to take down Strowman by sending him crashing into the ring steps. Dunne then sends Jey crashing into the ring steps and hits Dragunov with a Pump Handle Slam.
Dragunov then hits a chop on Dunne, but Dunne responds with an enzuigiri. Dunne then returns the favor, but Dragunov climbs to the top and looks to fly. Jey then hits him with a superkick mid-air and goes for a pin, but Dragunov kicks out. Dragunov and Jey then deliver some right hands on each other. Dragunov then hits Jey with a series of strikes and the Constantine Special, then goes for a pin but Dunne breaks the fall. Dunne then snaps Dragunov’s fingers and climbs to the top. Strowman then pushes him off and sends him crashing to the floor, then hits Jey with a shoulder tackle and nails Dragunov with a boot. Strowman then hits a couple of splashes on Jey and Dragunov, then follows it up with a clothesline on Dragunov’s midsection.
Strowman then hits The Strowman Express on Dragunov, Dunne and Jey on the outside. Strowman then sends Dunne crashing into the barricade near the timekeeper’s area, then clears the announce desk. Bronson Reed then appears and sends Strowman crashing through it with a splash off the barricade near the timekeeper’s area. Jey and Dragunov then exchange right hands with each other before Jey runs the ropes and hits a spear on Dragunov. Jey then looks to pin him, but Dunne sends Jey out of the ring and pins Dragunov himself. Dragunov then kicks out and Dunne delivers some right hands on Dragunov. Dunne then sets up for The Bitter End, but Dragunov escapes and hits a powerbomb on him. Dragunov then follows it up with the H-Bomb and goes for a pin, but Jey breaks the fall. Jey then climbs to the top and hits an Uso Splash on Dunne for the win.
The winner and new #1 Contender to the WWE Intercontinental Championship, “Main Event” Jey Uso!
After the match, Jey celebrates his win with the Calgary crowd as the show comes to a close.
