WWE brought their season premiere to Alberta, Canada, for the September 9 episode of RAW. When WWE visits Hart Country, anything can happen, and this week’s show was no exception.
During the episode, Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler faced off against Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria. The babyfaces were short one partner, leaving fans wondering who would join them. That question was quickly answered when the perfect Canadian choice emerged.
While Sonya Deville mocked Lyra for not having a partner to take on the Pure Fusion Collective, their confidence quickly faded when Natalya’s music hit. The Alberta crowd erupted with a big pop as the hometown favorite made her return.
Natalya wasted no time getting back to action as the bell rang. Her return was significant, given that she hasn’t been seen at any WWE events recently. However, with a newly signed deal that keeps her with the company for years to come, this marked her official return to WWE television. The 42-year-old Natalya’s most recent WWE match took place on June 4, 2024, where she defeated Izzi Dame during an episode of WWE NXT.
Before this, Natalya had been active in NXT, where she was involved in various storylines. Given her versatility, she can easily adapt to whatever role WWE has for her moving forward. Fans will have to wait and see what lies ahead for her on WWE programming.
In another notable moment earlier in the show, Bret Hart, Natalya’s uncle, made a return to WWE television. His appearance stood out, especially when GUNTHER remarked that his favorite wrestler was always Goldberg.
