Penta El Zero Miedo, part of the celebrated Lucha Brothers tag team with Rey Fenix, has been a major player in AEW since its start in 2019. With their contracts approaching expiration and a potential WWE move on the horizon, their potential post-AEW names have been revealed.

As reported earlier, Penta El Zero Miedo’s contract with AEW is set to expire between August and September 2024, making him potential free agent and it was noted he was open to leaving WWE. There is interest from WWE in acquiring his services as well. The same was said about Rey Fenix, as both of their contracts will be expiring this year.

It was then reported that the belief within AEW is that both Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix may leave the company for WWE once their contracts expire. It was then reported that there have been internal discussions in WWE about bringing them in, and they prefer not to go to NXT but rather make a direct move to the main roster.

According to PWInsider, on August 1st, The Lucha Brothers filed for several trademarks. The trademarks include “Cero Miedo,” “Zero Miedo,” “AN1MO,” “Fuego,” “King Fuego,” and “Rey Fuego.” These trademarks are intended for use in “Entertainment services, namely, exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; live appearances by a wrestler; live appearances by an entertainer.” The filings were made under the company name The Mexa King Brand, which is based in California.

It is important to note that since the Lucha Brothers are trademarking all of the aforementioned names, WWE would need to pay the Lucha Brothers to use those names if they wish to incorporate them into their own programming. With that said, it’s likely these names will be their post-AEW names.

Many fans feel the Lucha Brothers leaving AEW would be a huge blow to the company, considering their contributions to AEW over the past several years. Regardless, only time will tell what Penta and Fenix will do in the end.
