AEW and NJPW are once again set to produce their collaborative show for wrestling fans, Forbidden Door on June 30, at the UBS Arena in the Long Island hamlet of Elmont, New York with a huge match announced for the show.

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone celebrated her TBS title win over Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing. However, her festivities were interrupted by Skye Blue, who had previously attacked Mone and blindsided her again earlier in the night.

This led AEW President Tony Khan to set up an impromptu match between Mone and Blue, marking Mone’s in-ring debut on Dynamite. Mone delivered an impressive performance against the determined Skye Blue, ultimately securing her first successful title defense.

However, Mone’s celebration was interrupted when CMLL star and current NJPW Strong champion Stephanie Vaquer appeared, hinting at a potential clash between herself and the Mone Maker.

On tonight’s June 5 edition of AEW Dynamite, it was announced during the broadcast that Mercedes Mone would indeed collide against Stephanie Vaquer in a “Title for Title” match at Forbidden Door, raising the stakes higher than ever in a potentially blockbuster showdown for the event.
