AEW has organized the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Tournament for the past two years, featuring both Men’s and Women’s competitions, to honor the life and legacy of one of the greatest in-ring competitors of all time, the late Owen Hart.

Owen’s wife, Martha Hart has partnered with Tony Khan and AEW to bring this tournament to life and has made several on-screen appearances. After much speculation regarding its timeline, the AEW President got straight to business and raised the stakes for the same.

During tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing: Buy In, Tony Khan, alongside Martha Hart and Renee Paquette announced that the finals of the tournament will take place on July 10th in Alberta, Canada. Furthermore, he raised the bar for the entire locker room by adding that the winners of the respective sides will earn AEW World championship opportunities at their premier show, AEW All In this year.

Last year, it was Ricky Starks and current AEW TBS Champion Willow Nightingale who won the Owen Hart Cup tournament in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively. With the stakes higher than ever for this year’s edition, fans are eagerly anticipating this year’s tournament and now are even more excited to see who will emerge victorious.
