He confirmed that the event will always be co-branded between NJPW and AEW, while also hinting at the involvement of additional promotions such as CMLL and STARDOM.

Furthermore, in a new update by Fightful Select, NJPW sources indicated that multiple names have been considered as the No.1 contender for the AEW World Title championship for Forbidden Door, currently held by Swerve Strickland. There have also been discussions about outside-the-box options for the PPV.

“We’re told by NJPW sources that multiple names had been mentioned as the AEW World Title challenger for Forbidden Door. However, we’ve also been told that outside the box options have been considered as it relates to the PPV.”

Moreover, the fans can expect to see more New Japan stars appearing in the coming weeks, possibly as soon as this week. Additionally, other familiar faces are expected to show up in AEW.

“Expect to see more New Japan wrestlers pop up in the coming weeks, as soon as this week. We’re also told other familiar faces will be popping up in AEW.”

Forbidden Door 3 is scheduled to take place on June 30th at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York with the passionate fanbase of AEW and other independent promotions eagerly awaiting to see how the event will unfold.
