Big E Set to Star in New Peacock Comedy Series ‘Laid’

Big E has been taking a break from in-ring competition due to serious neck injury sustained on the March 11, 2022 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Despite his absence from wrestling, Big E has remained active with numerous appearances on various shows. Now, he is set to star in a new Peacock comedy series titled ‘Laid.’

According to Deadline, the new comedy series ‘Laid’ has rounded out its cast with eight guest stars, including WWE Superstar Ettore “Big E” Ewen. Other notable guest stars include Andre Hyland (Barry), Olivia Holt (Totally Killer), David Denman (The Office), Finneas O’Connell (Academy Award and Grammy-winning singer/songwriter), Chloe Fineman (SNL), Indya Moore (Pose), and John Early (Would It Kill You to Laugh).

‘Laid’ is executive produced by Stephanie Hsu, who also stars alongside Zosia Mamet, Michael Angarano, and Tommy Martinez. The series follows a woman who discovers her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must revisit her past relationships to move forward. Described as a darkly comedic rom-com, it explores the question, “Why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” with the answer being a resounding: “Yes, there is. The problem is definitely you.”

The series is written and executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan (Totally Killer, Young Rock) and Sally Bradford McKenna (Son of Zorn). Additional executive producers include John Davis and John Fox for Davis Entertainment; Jennifer Carreras for Fierce Baby; and Marieke Hardy, Kirsty Fisher, and Liz Watts for Porchlight Films and All3Media International.

It’s exciting to see Big E land such a significant role during his time away from wrestling. Fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how he fares in the show.
