WWE’s Plans for Cody Rhodes at WWE King and Queen of The Ring

Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion and he successfully retained his title against determined AJ Styles in the main event of Backlash. Fans wonder who his next opponent will be and it appears they won’t have to wait long now.

As previously reported, the next Saudi Arabian event will be taking place on May 25th, which is the King and Queen of The Ring event. A couple of title matches have already been confirmed for the show but fans still don’t know what Cody Rhodes will do at the event.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that Cody Rhodes is set to headline the King and Queen of The Ring event in a title match, and that his opponent will be revealed soon, as the event is approaching quickly. Preparations to build the storyline for this match are expected to begin imminently, which will be on SmackDown this week.

“We were told by those in WWE that Rhodes is pegged for the main event on this show in a title match and the opponent should start being built imminently since the show is so close at hand.”

We will have to wait and see who will end up becoming Cody Rhodes’ next opponent, as two weeks of buildup will not really be enough to build a proper feud unless it’s an established talent already.
