It’s Tuesday night and you know what that means! WWE NXT will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the May 7, 2024 episode.

WWE NXT Results (5/7/2024):

The show opens up with a video package showing Wes Lee’s run as WWE NXT North American Champion, his emotional farewell due to his injury as well as his return to NXT last week. We then see Wes Lee walking backstage with the NXT locker room supporting him and cheering him on as Lee wipes his tears. Lee then says he misses this and it feels good to be home. Lee then says he is ready to get back to work.

Lee then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night as Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcomes us to the show. Josh Briggs then makes his way down to the ring next.

Singles Match: Wes Lee vs. Josh Briggs

The match starts off with Briggs trying to toss Lee across the ring, but Lee does a flip and lands on his feet. Briggs and Lee then trade pin attempts. After a series of reversals, Lee then hits Briggs with a jawbreaker and follows it up with a dropkick. Briggs then rolls out of the ring. Lee and Briggs then trade shots. Briggs then sends Lee into the apron. Lee then hits Briggs with a hurricanrana and Briggs falls out of the ring. Lee then dives off the apron, but gets caught. Briggs then tries to send Lee into the ring post, but Lee escapes and sends Briggs into the ring post. Lee then hits a head scissors on Briggs. Lee then sends Briggs back into the ring and goes for the Cardiac Kick. Briggs reverses it into a backbreaker. Ivar then makes his way down to the ring to watch the match, while Briggs is working over Lee’s back.

Briggs then continues his assault on Lee’s previously injured back and Ivar has joined the commentary desk. Lee then sends Briggs out of the ring and Briggs lands near Ivar. Lee then dropkicks Briggs into Ivar. Lee then sends Briggs back into the ring and hits him with the Final Flash for the win.

After the match, Ivar and Briggs brawl and Wes Lee takes them both out with a dive. WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi then looks on from the bird’s nest and he is chuckling.

Chelsea Green and WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez were then shown arriving at the performance center earlier today.

We then get a recap from last week’s NXT Underground match between Lola Vice and Natalya.

We then head to the back, where the No Quarter Catch Crew are in the locker room. The O.C. then try to do the Too Sweet hand gesture to Axiom and Nathan Frazer, but the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions decline. Luke Gallows then says Axiom and Frazer are going to lose their tag team titles.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Karmen Petrovic vs. Shayna Baszler

The match starts off with Petrovic trying to kick Baszler, but Baszler ducks. Baszler then retreats out of the ring, but Petrovic follows. Baszler then traps Petrovic’s arm in the metal post under the ring. Baszler then kicks Petrovic’s arm and works over Petrovic’s injured limb. Petrovic then fires up and delivers a few kicks to Baszler. Baszler then puts Petrovic in the Kirifuda Clutch and Petrovic taps out.

We then get a replay of Fallon Henley betraying Thea Hail on last week’s show. Kelani Jordan was then ranting about Henley turning her back on Hail. Jordan says she was holding back from hitting Fallon last week. Fallon Henley then shows up and dares Kelani. Jordan then says she thought they were friends. Fallon then says she doesn’t need friends to be the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. Both women then start jawing and had to be pulled apart.

We then get a video giving us a special look at the WWE NXT Women’s Combine.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Tag Team Match and it is announced that the referee is “missing” and will be replaced with The D’Angelo Family’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

Tag Team Match: Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe vs. WWE NXT Heritage Cup Champions No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne and Charlie Dempsey)

The match starts off with Dupont quickly dominating Borne, but Borne fights back and Dempsey tags in. Dupont then hits a European Uppercut on Dempsey and tags Igwe in. Igwe then hits a stomp on Dempsey with the help of Dupont. Borne then tags in, but can’t get much momentum. Dupont then tags in and tosses Borne from pillar to post. Borne then dodges a splash and hits a dropkick on Dupont. Dempsey then tags in and Stacks stops a double team that nearly costs the No Quarter Catch Crew the match. Dempsey then puts Dupont in an Octopus Hold, but Dupont powers out and tags Igwe in. Igwe then fights Borne and Dempsey off and follows it up with a double lariat. Igwe then hits Dempsey with a powerslam for a near fall. Borne then pulls Dupont off the apron. Dempsey then hits Igwe with a German Suplex and Stacks counts as slowly as possible and Igwe kicks out. Stacks and Dempsey then get in each other’s faces. Stacks then nails Dempsey and Igwe rolls Dempsey up for the win.

We then head to the back, where Chelsea Green and Arianna Grace bond over their pageant history and as they leave, Gigi Dolin says she is done with this.

We then see WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and she says no one likes Chelsea Green and that she will send Green packing back to the main roster.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: The O.C.’s Michin vs. Arianna Grace

The match starts off with Grace screaming at Michin and waving her finger at her. Michin then grabs Grace’s finger and bends it and Grace drops to her knees. Michin then hits a dropkick on Grace. Grace then sends Michin into the corner. Grace then hits the takeover on Michin. Grace then hits a suplex on Michin and follows it up with an elbow drop, but Michin kicks out. Grace then puts Michin in a modified armbar, but Michin turns it into a powerbomb to break the hold. Michin then hits Grace with a series of dropkicks and follows it up with a running boot in the corner. Grace then hits a back body drop on Michin out to the apron. Michin then goes for a sunset flip, but Grace sits out and grabs the ropes during her pin. The referee sees it and breaks the count. Grace then argues with the referee and Michin hits her finisher on Grace for the win.

We then head to the back, where Ridge Holland tells Thea Hail that she reminds him of his daughter. Chase U then arrives followed by Lexis King. King then trash talks Ridge and Ridge gets in King’s face. Duke Hudson also gets in King’s face. Andre Chase then tells Ridge that the group always has each other’s backs.

Meta-Four then make their way down to the ring for a new episode of the Supernova Sessions.

Noam Dar starts off by welcoming the fans to the show. Lash Legend then introduces their guest for tonight and that is none other than WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams. Dar then shows us a video of Williams’ rise to becoming the WWE NXT Champion. Williams says he isn’t there for the games as he wants to know what’s in the envelope. Legend then says its finally time to reveal the truth. The crowd then chants, “He’s The Daddy.” Legend then shows a photo of Williams pinning Dar with his foot under the rope. Dar then says Williams owes all his momentum to him and that his victory is tainted. Mensa then tells Williams he isn’t a real champion. Williams then threatens to smack Mensa back to the motherland. Williams then jokes that Legend has him out there like they are on the Maury Show and that he isn’t the daddy. Williams then asks Legend if she is going to tell them or if he should. Legend then slips up and calls Williams baby and the crowd goes nuts. The rest of Meta-Four are disgusted and Williams asks if Legend wants to tell them that she calls him Trick Willy Wonka. Legend then says she isn’t doing this and tries to leave. Williams then stops her and says this is about them. Dar then nails Williams with a spinning back fist. Dar then stares a hole through Legend as he poses with the WWE NXT Championship.

We then get more highlights of the WWE NXT Women’s Combine, this time looking at the power portion.

We then head to the back, where Natalya tells Karmen Petrovic that she needs to be more vicious. Petrovic then knocks out an NXT talent with a brutal kick and Natalya approves.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Fallon Henley vs. Kelani Jordan

The match starts off with Jordan initially having the upperhand. Jordan then puts Henley in some holds, but Henley comes back and overpowers Jordan. Jordan then comes back with a strike for a near fall. Jordan then grounds Henley with a headlock. Both women then trade suplex attempts. Jordan then counters a spinning side slam with a headlock. Henley then gets Jordan on the ropes and snaps her neck across the top rope. Both women are now back in the ring and Henley gets a near fall. Henley then continues her assault on Jordan. Henley then stretches Jordan and Jordan fights out of it, only for Henley to drop Jordan to the canvas again. Jordan then fires back, but Henley pulls out the turnbuckle pad. Jordan then collides with the exposed turnbuckle and Henley hits Jordan with a running knee strike for the win.

We then head to the back, where NXT General Manager Ava announces the 12 women that have qualified to compete for the NXT North American Women’s Championship.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Chase U’s Duke Hudson vs. Lexis King

The match starts off with King charging at Hudson. Hudson then comes back with a lariat and a body slam. Hudson then hits a suplex on King and gets a near fall. King then starts to fight back with strikes and gets near falls. King then takes Hudson’s leg out and Thea Hail screams at King and King gets in Thea’s face. King then tries to retreat, but Ridge Holland makes his way out and chases King back to the ring. King then takes advantage of a distraction and hits Hudson with a superkick, then follows it up with a Coronation for the win.

An interviewer then asks Meta-Four where Lash Legend was, but they brush the interview off and walk away. Je’Von Evans then meets up with Meta-Four and wonders why they tried to play Trick Willy. Evans then wonders if they wanted to scrap. Noam then says Je’Von is the shiny new toy, but stepping up to Meta-Four is a good way to stunt growth. Meta-Four then leaves.

We then see Chelsea Green walk by her old manager Robert Stone backstage and we see WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez walking.

We then head to the back, where Jazmyn Nyx promises revenge on Thea Hail for breaking Jacy Jayne’s nose.

We then see Ridge Holland walk up to Chase U and apologize for costing them the match. Holland then says Hail reminds him of his daughter. Hudson then says it’s okay and if he buys dinner it’s fine because it was Lexis’ fault anyway. Holland then agrees. Riley then says that he still cost Duke the match. Holland then says he’ll try to win their trust. Hail and Chase then tells Riley that it’s all good.

The lineup of next week’s episode of WWE NXT is then announced.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is the WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match.

WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Chelsea Green

The match starts off with Perez and Green trading armbars and pin attempts. After a tackle/dropdown spot, Green then slips through Perez’s legs and trips her from out on the floor. Both women are then down and Green hits a clothesline on Perez, then follows it up with a flurry of elbows in the corner. Green then hits Perez with a sliding flatliner, but Perez kicks out. Green and Perez then trade reversals. Perez then nails Green with a right hand. Perez then hits Green with a running dropkick and Green goes up top. Perez then cuts Green off and hits a hurricanrana, but Green kicks out. Green then sends Perez into the turnbuckle and hits her with a missile dropkick, but Perez kicks out. Green and Perez then trade shots. Perez then hits Green with the Pop Rocks for the win.

We then head to the parking lot, where The D’Angelo Family is shown beating Damon Kemp down in the back of a car. They then drive him off and Tony says that it’s going to make the Catch Clause much harder now. After they drive off, Charlie Dempsey was shown holding the NXT Heritage Cup not knowing what happened and the show comes to a close.
