In the latest WWE Draft, while there weren’t any clear moves of main roster talents to NXT, one familiar name is poised to transition to the brand soon.

According to reports from Corey Brennan and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, sources within WWE have confirmed that Mike Rome, the current ring announcer for SmackDown, will be shifting to NXT for ring announcing duties, potentially starting with tonight’s show.

“Mike Rome is set to make his way to NXT for ring announcing duties as soon as tonight’s show.”

Rome’s journey in WWE has seen him previously serving as NXT’s Ring Announcer from 2016 to 2019, following his signing with the promotion in 2016. Subsequently, he took on the role of RAW’s ring announcer from 2019 to 2023, before settling into his current position on SmackDown.
