Sami Zayn Admits He Wanted to Shield His Wife From ‘Online Monsters’

Sami Zayn is the Intercontinental Champion after defeating GUNTHER for the title at WrestleMania 40 and he is currently engaged in feud with Chad Gable following Gable’s heel turn on RAW. His wife has been a part of his journey on WWE television since last year and Zayn has admitted he wanted to shield his wife from online monsters.

Sami Zayn is known for keeping his personal life private and has seen his wife, Khadijah, support him during significant moments in his WWE career. She was present in the front row when Zayn faced Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber 2023 Premium Live Event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Khadijah also attended WrestleMania 40, where Sami Zayn ended Gunther’s record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign.

During a recent appearance on the Gorilla Position podcast, Zayn shared his thoughts on his wife’s appearances on WWE TV. He expressed mixed feelings about her being in the spotlight, mainly due to the negativity from “monsters” online who often have harsh or offensive comments.

“I’ve been extremely private my whole career and my whole life actually, but I shielded her specifically from it because she didn’t sign up for it, and I just don’t think she’s built for criticism. The kind of criticism that these monsters online sometimes hurl at us, especially the women or whatever. And I just didn’t want to expose her to that and then somehow or another she ended up kind of involved in the story when we did the match in Montreal.”

We will have to wait and see what’s next in store for Sami Zayn, as we approach the Backlash Premium Live Event on May 4th. In the meantime, Zayn will always have his wife’s support no matter what and that’s all that matters.
