Jinder Mahal’s unexpected rise to prominence this year took many by surprise as he found himself in contention for the WWE World Heavyweight Title shot on RAW, only to lose the match. However, his journey took an unexpected turn as he was released from the company yesterday. Reports suggest that WWE’s internal reaction to his release has been disclosed.

Today has delivered disappointment to numerous WWE fans, with the company opting to release several stars in its latest round of cuts. Among those affected was none other than Jinder Mahal.

In case you need a refresher, Tony Khan’s meltdown back in January originated from troll tweet by The USA Network account. In response, Khan defended his booking decisions and his company on Twitter, highlighting what he perceived as a “double standard.” He compared Jinder Mahal’s win-loss record to that of Hook, the AEW World Champion contender.

“A double standard: @730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage #AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS.“

Jinder Mahal had very appropriate response to Tony Khan and many came to defend the Modern Day Maharaja as well. Jinder Mahal even gloated about dominating Twitter after the whole ordeal ended.

According to PWInsider Elite, among a few WWE talents, there’s a running joke about Jinder Mahal potentially feuding with Tony Khan on Dynamite this summer following his release.

”The running joke among a few WWE talents is that Jinder Mahal will be feuding with AEW President Tony Khan on Dynamite this Summer”

Jinder Mahal is also focusing on rebuilding himself following his WWE release. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jinder Mahal, as a run in AEW seems highly unlikely anyway.
