Coming out of WrestleMania season, numerous legends were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Not only for WWE, but numerous wrestling promotions hosted their Hall of Fame induction ceremonies recently. One among them was GCW, who hosted the ceremony a few days ago.

As part of the class of 2024, GCW inducted the likes of the Briscoes, Trent Acid, Mercedes Martinez, and more into the Indie Hall of Fame. However, one name who made numerous headlines following the ceremony was Sabu. The latter was set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame but he didn’t show up on stage in the end.

GCW Promoter Brett Lauderdale addressed Sabu’s decision and respected it. Addressing the promoter’s update, the legendary superstar revealed that he had changed his mind. This was followed by Brett revealing that he had no hard feelings for Sabu and that he still had nothing but respect for him.

Sabu – “I changed my mind.”

Brett – “Just for the record, I have no hard feelings towards Sabu and still have nothing but respect for him as a person and especially as a performer. The sacrifices he made changed the game (pardon the pun) and many of my favorite memories as a fan are centered around his work.”

While Sabu’s no-show didn’t become a big problem for Brett, it might have taken a toll on the promotion. However, there might have been a good reason for Sabu turning his appearance down during the end moments. Ringside News will keep you updated with this story.
