It was a weekend of highs and lows at WrestleMania 40, with Cody Rhodes’s crowning moment as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion undoubtedly among the highlights. However, not all moments were met with universal acclaim, as Hall of Famer Mark Henry expressed his dissatisfaction with Kairi Sane’s actions during the event.

Following the conclusion of WrestleMania 40’s Saturday night proceedings, Mark Henry shared his thoughts during an appearance on Busted Open Radio. Henry didn’t mince words, expressing his disappointment with Sane’s failure to exit the ring promptly as Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi made their entrances. He criticized Sane for what he perceived as disrespect towards the business.

In his impassioned remarks, Henry emphasized the importance of respecting the wrestling tradition, suggesting that had he been in the ring, he would have taken decisive action.

“Bully [Ray] and Tommy [Dreamer] both going to understand this when I say this. I’m saying if I was a girl and I was in that match and I get my entrance and I come in the ring and I wipe my feet and I stand in, step into the ring, and Kairi Sane’s ass is still walking in the ring, I’m taking her head off.

Give me the f*cking ring. I’m the guy. She should have got out the f*cking ring. I was so mad. You got to respect the business first. And she didn’t, but she would if I would have been in the ring.”

Ultimately, Damage CTRL, the faction in which Kairi Sane was involved, suffered defeat in the match. While Henry’s critique is undoubtedly rooted in his deep reverence for wrestling, some may view his reaction as overly harsh given the context.

As fans reflect on the events of WrestleMania 40 and Mark Henry’s response, opinions are likely to vary. While Henry’s perspective is valid, it remains subject to interpretation, leaving room for differing viewpoints within the wrestling community.
