Damian Priest won the Money In The Bank last year but still hadn’t cashed it in for such a long time he became a subject of ridicule. That all changed after WrestleMania, as he became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and he would then share a wholesome moment with Triple H after the win.

When Drew McIntyre secured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, it evoked a somewhat feel-good moment. Despite recent displays of heelish behavior, McIntyre had articulated a compelling case leading up to the match, underscoring his significance to WWE during the pandemic era of shows, even as evident during the WrestleMania pre-show.

However, the elation of his victory proved short-lived as McIntyre refrained from fully celebrating. Instead, he swiftly shifted gears to taunt CM Punk at ringside. Their verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, capturing the attention of Damian Priest, who rushed in and capitalized on the opportunity by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase for an immediate title shot.

In a whirlwind turn of events, mere moments after capturing the championship, Drew McIntyre found himself losing the title as Damian Priest became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE took to their Instagram and uploaded a video of Damian Priest following his win, as he and Triple H share a wholesome embrace backstage. It was clear Priest was on cloud nine after his win.

We will have to wait and see how Damian Priest will be booked as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the coming weeks, as it is very clear Drew McIntyre is not done with Priest.
