Cody Rhodes finally finished the story at WrestleMania 40 Sunday as he defeated Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship. Rhodes would then reveal the special gift he got from Triple H following his massive win.
During the post-show press conference, Cody Rhodes disclosed that after his emotional triumph at WrestleMania 40, where he clinched the WWE Championship, a monumental milestone as the first in his family to achieve this, he received a profoundly meaningful gift.
Nick Khan, Triple H, and Bruce Prichard presented him with a very special watch. Its significance lies in the fact that it’s identical to the watch Dusty Rhodes, Cody’s father, had pawned to fund Cody’s acting school tuition.
“I came to the back and Bruce Prichard, Triple H, and Nick Khan handed me this [shows watch]. It’s the same watch my dad had that he pawned so I could go to acting school. The level of investment and responsibility the company just put in my hands, I hope I can pay it back, pay it forward, 100 times over.”
Cody Rhodes is truly on top of the world right now and we will have to wait and see whether he will end up having an incredible run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion as well.
