CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have pure disdain for each other and CM Punk got revenge on McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 Sunday and has now promised to go after Drew McIntyre till he goes insane.

Drew McIntyre sidelined CM Punk at WWE Royal Rumble, delivering a Future Shock DDT that led to Punk sustaining a torn tricep. Since then, McIntyre has been taunting Punk both online and on-screen.

At WrestleMania 40 Sunday, Punk sought revenge by ambushing McIntyre, allowing Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and seize the WWE World Heavyweight Title that McIntyre had only just claimed from Seth Rollins.

While speaking on ESPN, CM Punk commented on his actions and made it clear he was happy about getting some measure of revenge on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 Sunday.

I wanted to make Drew interesting. I wanted to show him that what’s important isn’t on the internet. What’s important is inside the building. Those people, after his two matches. Yes, he had two. He won one. He lost the more important one. They were chanting ‘CM Punk.'”

Punk wasted no time in cutting a promo on McIntyre, accusing him of praying for his injury and scheming to secure a spot in the WrestleMania 40 main event. Punk asserted his dominance, vowing to continue his relentless pursuit until McIntyre cracks under the pressure. He emphasized his intent to reclaim his territory and warned everyone to focus on the evolution of his persona.

Drew McIntyre prayed for me to be injured. He prayed for it to happen. He asked for help. He looked above and said, ‘God, please, take CM Punk out so I can main event WrestleMania 40.’ I don’t pray for things to happen. I make them happen. I’m going to keep this up until Drew loses his mind. This is my house. I came back here to prove it. Everybody is worried about who I was, who I am now. You should worry about who I’m becoming.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s feud in the coming weeks, as it is clear they will square off against each other as soon as Punk is cleared for his in-ring return.
