Gunther secured the WWE Intercontinental Championship in June 2022 and went on to become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history. His run would come to an end at WrestleMania 40 Saturday and now he has given his first remarks after his shocking loss.

Sami Zayn, under the guidance of Chad Gable, stepped up to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40 on Saturday. Despite Gunther’s dominance throughout the match, Sami’s resilience shone through, culminating in a series of devastating Helluva kicks that secured him the victory and brought an end to Gunther’s championship reign.

The Ring General took to Twitter and uploaded a photo of himself alongside his wife Jinny from this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony, as he broke his social media silence after this loss.

We will have to wait and see what the future holds for Gunther, now that he is no longer the Intercontinental Champion anymore. Perhaps he might just go after the World Heavyweight Championship after WrestleMania 40.
