Gunther is in the middle of an iconic run as the Intercontinental Champion in Vince McMahon’s company. The Ring General continues to dominate the competition and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. Now it appears he is officially the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time.

The Ring General won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in June last year and has since defended it quite a few times already. With each win, Gunther’s stock continues to rise and he becomes more and more dominating.

After defeating Chand Gable on RAW this week, it was all but confirmed he was going to make history and that is exactly what happened as Gunther is now the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time at 454 days, surpassing The Honky Tonk Man.

We will have to wait and see whether Chad Gable will end up defeating Gunther for the title, now that Gunther has etched his name in the annals of history in professional wrestling.
