AJ Styles Was Prepared for Potential Problems With CM Punk’s WWE Return

In Philadelphia, during the ‘WWE World’ festivities/convention, The Ringer Wrestling Show recorded a session featuring AJ Styles. During the show, Styles was questioned about CM Punk’s comeback. He mentioned his close ties with individuals in AEW and confessed that he anticipated some friction when Punk returned to WWE.

However, Styles remarked that the reality has been quite the opposite from his perspective. He expressed his eagerness to engage in a thrilling match with Punk in the ring, emphasizing a desire to showcase their talents together.

”I mean, if you know anything about A.J. Styles and CM Punk, you would know that we really don’t care for each other. But if you want me to ruin everything that you think you know, I can… Past performance predicts future behavior. Some over at AEW are my best friends, love ‘em, trust ‘em, know ‘em and I was expecting a problem when he came here and I was wrong. The guy looks like he’s happy to be here. He looks like a guy that I’d wanna step in the ring with and tear the house down with him.”

CM Punk also revealed who reached out to him for his WWE return. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether Punk and Styles will duke it out somewhere down the line.
