It’s Friday night, and you know what that means! WWE SmackDown will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the March 29, 2024 episode.

WWE SmackDown Lineup (3/29/2024):

WWE SmackDown Results (3/29/2024):

The show opens up with a shot of the city of Philadelphia and Corey Graves hyping up WrestleMania 40. Graves then introduces us to a video package of what happened between WWE legend The Rock and “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes on RAW.

The Bloodline was then shown walking backstage. “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair and Damage CTRL were shown arriving to the arena earlier in the day as well. “The Viper” Randy Orton then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night as Corey Graves and Wade Barrett welcomes us to the show.

We then get the rest of the entrances for the first match of the night.

Tag Team Match: Kevin Owens and “The Viper” Randy Orton vs. Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince)

The match starts off with Owens delivering rights and lefts on Wilson as soon as the bell rings. Owens then hits a lariat on Wilson followed by a senton, but Wilson kicks out. Wilson then avoids a Stunner from Owens and tags Prince in. Orton then tags in and beats Prince down in the corner. Prince then sends Orton into the ring post thanks to a distraction. Wilson then takes Owens down outside the ring. Prince then hits Orton with a suplex on the announce desk.

Prince and Wilson are then working on Orton. Orton then manages to tag Owens in. Owens then clears the ring. Prince then gets his knees up as Owens goes for a swanton thanks to a distraction. Wilson and Orton then fight outside the ring. Orton then tries to suplex Wilson through the announce desk, but Prince breaks it up. While the referee is distracted, Logan Paul shows up from under the ring and hits Owens with a brass knuckles. Prince then gets the pinfall victory over Owens.

After the match, Orton yells at Owens and asks him what happens. A video then airs showing what Paul just did to Owens. Orton then jumps out of the ring and looks for Paul under the ring. Orton then delivers right hands to Paul and sends his face bouncing off the barricade. Orton then gets Paul on top of the announce desk and lands more right hands on him, but Pretty Deadly goes after Orton and beats him down. Owens then comes to Orton’s aid and hits a Stunner on Prince. Orton then hits Wilson with an RKO and stares down Paul on the outside. Orton then chases Paul to the back through the crowd and Owens meets them up on the ramp. Paul then continues to run and steals a car before he drives off.

A video package featuring WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY then airs. SKY talks in Japanese about Bayley. SKY calls Bayley a narcissist and a hypocrite and says she made Bayley relevant and Damage CTRL felt obligated to keep Bayley around until they outgrew Bayley. SKY also says she did what needed to be done. SKY then calls Bayley an embarrassment and a tragedy to this company. The video package then ended and Bayley appears out of nowhere and the two women suddenly brawled on the interview set until they were pulled apart by cameramen.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis is already standing in the middle of the ring and starts off by saying he has had one goal since taking this job and that is making SmackDown the number one show. Aldis then says he believes SmackDown’s latest signing brings him closer to that goal. Aldis then Introduces Jade Cargill and Cargill joins Aldis in the ring.

Cargill starts off by signing the contract in Aldis’ hand to make her officially part of the blue brand. Cargill then takes the mic Aldis hands her and says it is about damn time. Cargill then says now that pen has been put to paper she will make herself crystal clear. Cargill says WWE has one of the best women’s rosters in the world, but they aren’t her. Cargill also says they aren’t the headline and they aren’t a once in a lifetime Superstar. Cargill then says the storm has arrived.

We then head to the back, where Kayla Braxton is interviewing Damage CTRL. Dakota Kai says Bayley will be embarrassed at WrestleMania. Kai then mocks Bianca Belair for calling herself The EST of WWE. Kai then walks off looking pretty annoyed.

WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis is then shown walking backstage and he runs into Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. Dawn says she has a billion ideas for herself and Fyre and wants Aldis to hear them. Fyre then pulls Dawn away as a confused Aldis walks off. AJ Styles then runs into Aldis and asks the SmackDown GM if he was sure LA Knight wasn’t going to be there tonight. Aldis then says he asked Knight not to be there and Styles said, “You should have told him.”

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a WrestleMania XL Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match.

WrestleMania XL Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match: The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory And Grayson Waller)

The match starts off with Waller and Ford as Damian Priest and Finn Balor is shown watching from backstage. Ford hits a back elbow on Waller, but Waller responds with a strike of his own and tags Theory in. A-Town Down Under then looks to hit a double suplex, but Ford escapes and tags out to Dawkins. Waller then sends Ford crashing to the outside with a right hand, but Dawkins hits him with a shoulder tackle that sends him crashing over the announce desk.

Waller then looks to launch himself from the middle rope, but Dawkins catches him and hits him with a suplex. Theory and Ford then tag in and Ford hits a back elbow on Theory off the top rope. Ford then follows that up with a shoulder tackle and a clothesline, then hits Theory with a back suplex and a standing moonsault. Ford then goes for a pin, but Theory kicks out. Dawkins then tags in and places Theory in an Electric Chair position as Ford climbs to the top rope. Ford then hits a blockbuster on Theory and Dawkins goes for a pin, but Waller breaks it up and sends Ford out of the ring. Theory then rolls up Dawkins, but Dawkins kicks out.

Theory then hits a jawbreaker on Dawkins off the top rope and looks for a rolling Stunner, but Dawkins counters it into a spinebuster. Ford then tags in and begins to climb to the top rope, but becomes distracted when he sees Bobby Lashley and B-Fab laid out in their dressing room on the big screen. Karrion Kross and Scarlett are then seen leaving, taking their champagne with them and Dawkins heads to the back. Ford then climbs to the top rope and looks for a Frog Splash, but Theory counters it into a pinfall for the win.

After the match, the Authors of Pain blindside the Street Profits as Kross, Scarlett and Paul Ellering make their way down to the ring. AOP then hits the Supercollider on the Profits. “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley then make their way down to the ring as officials try to stop him, then he delivers a right hand to Kross. AOP then double team Lashley and Kross berates Lashley.

Legado Del Fantasma makes their way down to the ring as they will address the WWE Universe.

Santos Escobar starts off by saying he told the fans so. Escobar then gloats about putting Rey Mysterio on the shelf for months and beating him last week. Escobar then introduces Dominik Mysterio and Dominik’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Escobar then thanks Dominik for helping him win last week and says while they didn’t see eye-to-eye at first, Dominik was ultimately right. Escobar then hugs Dominik and Dominik says he will do everything in his power to make his deadbeat’s father’s life a living hell. Escobar then says Rey always turns his back on the people he loves the most.

Rey Mysterio’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring with the rest of then LWO. Rey tells Dominik he thought he was done fighting him, but Escobar dragged him into the issues between LWO and Legado Del Fantasma. Rey then says it’s a divine intervention that the two men he hates the most are in front of him because he can beat some respect into the both of them. Rey then challenges Dominik and Escobar to a tag team match at WrestleMania with a partner of his choosing. Dominik then asks which of the dorks from LWO will be Rey’s tag team partner and Rey says it will be the newest member of then LWO Dragon Lee.

Lee’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Zelina Vega and Elektra Lopez then get in each other’s faces and Lopez mocks Vega. Vega then slaps Lopez, leading to the two stables brawling with one another. Carlito and Dominik then brawl in the center of the ring as Rey sends Escobar to the outside. Dominik then looks for the 619 on Rey, but Carlito sends Dominik crashing out of the ring. Lee then hits a senton off the top rope to level Legado Del Fantasma on the outside.

Naomi and Bianca Belair were then shown talking backstage. Naomi says she has Belair’s back tonight. Belair then says she can’t be mad at Naomi. Both women then hype each other up.

We then head to the back, where we see Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley with JD McDonagh, Damian Priest and Finn Bálor. Ripley asks if anyone knew Dominik was going out there tonight. Priest is confused that Dominik didn’t speak to her first. Priest then asks if there is something the group needs to worry about as this coming WrestleMania is big not just for the group but for them as individuals as well. Ripley then asks if there is something she needs to know. Before Priest can answer, Dominik walks in and says he didn’t say anything because he wanted to make her proud.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a WrestleMania XL Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match.

WrestleMania XL Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match: New Catch Republic (“The Big Strong Boy” Tyler Bate and “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne) vs. Legado Del Fantasma (Humberto and Angel)

The match starts off with Angel and Dunne. Humberto tags in and lands a right hand on Dunne’s spine, then tags Angel back in. Angel then lands a kick to Dunne’s midsection as Finn Balor and Damian Priest watch the action from backstage. Dunne then begins wearing down Angel’s fingers, then tags Bate in. Bate then hits a back elbow on Angel and a knee to his face, then follows that up with an uppercut off the second rope. Bate then hits Humberto with a standing moonsault and a hurricanrana that sends him crashing out of the ring. Bate then flies off the top rope and over Dunne to level both Angel and Humberto on the outside.

Bate then tags in and he places Humberto up on his soldiers. Humberto then tags out to Angel and Angel helps Humberto out. Humberto then powerbombs Bate and Angel follows it up with a springboard moonsault. Humberto then places Bate on the top rope, then tags in Angel. Angel and Humberto then send Bate crashing off the top rope and Angel goes for a pin, but Dunne breaks it up. Dunne and Humberto then begin brawling, but Angel takes Dunne out. Dunne then lands a strike on Humberto, then tags Bate in. Dunne and Bate then hits the Burning Hammer on Humberto for the win.

We then get a video showing what happened in the closing moments of last Monday’s episode of RAW, when The Rock completely destroyed Cody Rhodes.

We then head to the back, where Paul Heyman says Rock took out Cody on Monday by orders of the Tribal Chief. Jimmy Uso then says Jey won’t make it to WrestleMania. Solo Sikoa then says, “Jey, I’ll see you next week” and follows that up by saying by orders of the Tribal Chief, Sikoa will take out Jey.

AJ Styles then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.

Styles starts off by saying it’s been a little over a week and he blames the fans for being the reason LA Knight came to his house and attacked him in his front yard. Styles then says he has big plans for LA Knight. Styles also says although Nick Aldis promised LA Knight isn’t in the arena, he still thinks Knight is there. Styles then says Knight could be anywhere and kicks the cameraman standing in the ring. A masked person then jumps the barricade and Styles calls security. Styles then takes off the man’s mask to reveal a random person and demands security to drag him away.

The camera then pans out to reveal that Knight is in disguise as a security guard. Knight then takes off his hat, his wig and his glasses and attacks Styles and delivers some stomps on him in the corner. Knight then hits Styles with a running knee and grabs a chair. Styles then rolls out of the ring and retreats through the crowd. Knight then grabs a mic and stands up on the announce desk. Knight tells Styles that he is the biggest piece of human walking waste he has ever seen. Knight then tells Styles to run, hide and do whatever else he needs because he will know whose game it is at WrestleMania with everybody saying his name.

We then get a video vignette of Tiffany Stratton, where she vows to always look hot and spare viewers from the uggos.

The lineup of next week’s WrestleMania XL go-home episode of SmackDown is then announced.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: “Th EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair vs. Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai

The match starts off with Belair taking Kai down and hitting her with a few strikes. Kai then counters and lands a few strikes of her own to Belair. Belair then counters a hip toss into a series of suplexes. Kai then escapes a third suplex with a knee and lands on the apron. Kai then avoids a shoulder block from Belair. Kai then hits Belair with a boot on her head into the ring post.

Belair then fights her way out of a sleeper hold Kai has locked in on her and hits Kai with a delayed vertical suplex. Belair then delivers right hands to Kai in the corner, but Kai pulls on Belair’s hair to escape. Belair then hits Kai with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, then sends Kai crashing into the mat face first and goes for a springboard moonsault. Kai then avoids it and pulls on Belair’s hair, but Belair goes for a springboard moonsault for a second time and gets it.

Kai then kicks on Belair’s spine, then mocks her and delivers a series of kicks to Belair. Belair then trips Kai and nails her with a double ax handle to her spine before both women go back and forth exchanging right hands. Kai then hits a Scorpion Kick to Belair and goes for a running boot, but Belair moves out of the way and sets up for the KOD. Kai then escapes and Belair hits her with a superplex, then follows that up with a spear and her KOD finisher for the win.

After the match, Asuka and Kairi Sane immediately appear and begin attacking Belair. Naomi then makes her way down to the ring to even the odds and she beats both Sane and Asuka down. Naomi hits Asuka with a kick, but Sane gains the upper hand and begins beating Naomi down with Asuka. Belair then looks to help Naomi, but Kai, Asuka and Sane overpower her and continue beating her down and Belair. Jade Cargill’s music then hits and she slowly makes her way down to the ring. Cargill hits Asuka with a pump kick, then hits Kai with a powerbomb and a Jaded to Sane. Cargill then stands tall with Belair and Naomi in the ring as the show comes to a close.
