Mexican wrestler El Hijo del Vikingo, who has garnered significant attention in the world of professional wrestling, always remains a topic of discussion for good reason. In fact, his contractual status with AEW has now been revealed.

El Hijo del Vikingo has appeared on AEW television quite a few times since last year and this has made fans wonder whether Tony Khan actually signed him in the past.

While speaking on Keepin’ It 100 with Konnan, Konnan was asked about El Hijo del Vikingo’s contractual status with AEW. Konnan revealed that El Hijo del Vikingo has not signed a contract with AEW.

“He’s not signed by Tony Khan,” Konnan said. “He’s signed to us (AAA) and he’s one of the very few talents, very good talents that we have that Tony hasn’t signed. What’s really fu**ed us up, when this finally happens we will have a more normal playing field is so we were supposed to get a TV deal like two years ago and then the pandemic, a lot of changes were done in the industry, so we’re on the road to that now.”

As previously reported, El Hijo del Vikingo was scheduled to undergo surgery for a ruptured ligament and damaged meniscus. It was then confirmed that he underwent the surgery successfully.

We have also reported El Hijo del Vikingo’s recovery timeline following his knee surgery, as he recently started rehabbing. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see if he will ever end up signing with AEW somewhere down the line.
