Mexico’s El Hijo del Vikingo, who has gained considerable attention in pro wrestling, recently experienced a knee injury. Fortunately, it has been disclosed that he underwent successful surgery to address the issue. The details of his recovery timeline post-surgery have also been revealed.

On February 17, 2024, Vikingo partnered with Psycho Clown and Wotan at AULL Rencor Extremo but suffered a loss against Negocio Traumado. The match was halted due to an injury to Vikingo’s right knee.

As previously reported, El Hijo del Vikingo was set to undergo surgery recently for ruptured ligament and damaged meniscus. It was then confirmed he underwent successful surgery.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he was informed that Vikingo could potentially return as early as five months since it’s his first surgery. However, the timeline is contingent on the extent of the repairs needed and could extend to as long as nine months.

Vikingo’s latest AEW appearance was on the January 24 episode of Rampage, competing in the AEW International Championship Number 1 Contendership Freshly Squeezed Four-Way match. The seriousness of his injury is presently unknown, leaving fans uncertain about El Hijo del Vikingo’s return to the ring. The injury poses a significant setback for the promising young Mexican star.
