Adam Copeland made his way to AEW during WrestleDream last year after a 25 year career in WWE, shocking fans. Copeland has now admitted he didn’t even know if he would continue wrestling after his last match in Toronto.

On the March 6th episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland made a highly anticipated return to the company after a three-week absence, targeting The Patriarchy in a surprising turn of events.

Following a dramatic pursuit that involved chasing off Christian Cage in a stolen car, the “Rated R Superstar” issued a challenge to the TNT Champion for an I Quit Match. This intense showdown is set to take place on the March 20th episode of AEW Dynamite, with the stage being Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Speaking on TSN 1050, Copeland was asked about his return to Toronto to face Christian Cage. Copeland made it clear that he was unsure he would ever wrestle again after his last match in Toronto.

“Any time I get to come home, right? The last time I performed in Toronto, I didn’t know if I would continue wrestling, I really didn’t. Fast forward six or seven months later, here I am, and it’s kind of my perfect storm. I’m wrestling a guy that I’ve known since the sixth grade. We’re doing it in our hometown. It’s an I Quit match. There are all of these stakes. It’s so much fun. If you had told 12-year-old Adam in Orangeville that one day, 40 years down the road, we’d be stepping into the ring against each other, I’d say you’re nuts, but here we are.”

Copeland’s last WWE match took place in August 2023 in Toronto against Sheamus. We’ll have to wait and see if Adam Copeland emerges victorious in the I Quit match against Christian Cage, potentially putting an end to their feud once and for all. Fans are undoubtedly rooting for The Rated R Superstar to come out on top.
