Kyle O’Reilly fought back with his career-threatening injury and made a return to AEW at Revolution 2024. Following Roderick Strong’s AEW International Championship win against Orange Cassidy, O’Reilly came face to face with his former WWE tag team partner and congratulated him on the victory.

Since then, Strong has been trying to get O’Reilly into the Undisputed Kingdom but the latter has been rejecting it. On the 3/16 episode of AEW Collision, O’Reilly made his in-ring return for the first time in nearly two years to face Bryan Keith in a decent match.

Throughout the match, Bryan Keith tried to put some damage on O’Reilly’s neck which the latter kept on favoring. However, fighting through all the pain, the former WWE superstar secured win in his first match following surgery. After the match, members of the Undisputed Kingdom came out to celebrate O’Reilly’s victory hinting at the latter potentially having a storyline with the faction.

Following his match, the returning star’s reaction was recorded backstage who was full of happiness and gratitude. O’Reilly stated that he was too lucky to get an opportunity that not many are able to earn.

“In moments and times like these, I’m reminded how much it hurts to be a professional wrestler. How much it hurts to hit the mat, how much it sucks to get chopped and to get kicked. I’m reminded of why I fell in love with this sport to begin with, man. I’m reminded of how deep of a roster we have, how talented a guy Bryan Keith is. I’m reminded how great the AEW fan base is.

I know I said, you know, I mentioned at the time I didn’t want to join the Undisputed Kingdom, but that didn’t mean that I didn’t want the support of my best friends. Before I knew it, those guys were out there and they’re hugging me and it really, really felt good. I’m a really lucky guy. I get a chance to do this again.”

Following his match against Bryan Keith, it is clear that Kyle O’Reilly has not lost a step during his rehab. In the next few weeks, following the Undisputed Kingdom’s continuous interactions, O’Reilly might join the faction or engage in a feud with them.
