The recent WWE comeback of The Rock sparked significant excitement, as he is more or less the only thing fans are talking about right now. Therefore, it’s no surprise that he was responsible for SmackDown being a sellout this week.

The Rock made a triumphant return to WWE, embracing a heel persona as he joins forces with The Bloodline and pledges loyalty to Roman Reigns. His current character combines elements of his 90s heel persona with The Hollywood Rock, captivating audiences with his dynamic presence and captivating performances.

Ahead of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Memphis, The Rock touted the show being completely sold out, as he continued an impressive streak. The show was held at the FedEx Forum in Memphis and they sold 12,122 tickets for the episode.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about The Rock’s impact on ticket sales. He revealed that The Rock was responsible for more than doubling the ticket sales for the show and greatly helped in it becoming a sellout.

”More than doubled the tickets for SmackDown once they announced The Rock was going to be there, more than double, yeah. Memphis was not going to be that at all, Memphis was 4,500 tickets sold 2 and a half weeks out. Even a week ago, it’s not like everyone bought till they announced him. It was up in the sevens a week ago. I was like ‘Man I don’t know how they’ll get to 12.” Yesterday morning I got a text from someday saying they sold out Memphis. By weird coincidence, someone in WWE talked to me. I don’t think anyone wanted me to know because Dwayne wanted to break the news in his promo.”

The Rock’s Concert also drew incredible viewership on YouTube. It remains to be seen how WWE will continue to book The Rock leading up to WrestleMania 40. Some fans perceive the feud as being more about The Rock and Cody Rhodes rather than Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes. As the buildup unfolds, WWE may adjust the storyline to ensure that the focus remains on the intended main event clash.
