WWE has set the table for a huge opportunity for its tag team division for its biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 40 with New Catch Republic joining the ride to possibly attain championship glory.

This week on RAW, the announcement came from RAW and SmackDown’s General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis respectively that Finn Balor and Damien Priest, holders of the Undisputed WWE tag team titles, are slated to defend their belts at WrestleMania 40. Their challengers? Five other teams, in a thrilling 6-Pack Ladder match set to ignite The Show of Shows.

Tonight’s edition of SmackDown saw New Catch Republic members Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne battling against Pretty Deadly’s Elton Prince and Kit Wilson in the first-round bout.

Both teams battled back and forth as a huge opportunity hung in the balance with WrestleMania on the horizon. While Pretty Deadly brought their highly coordinated attacks together, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate displayed their absolute masculinity and physical batter to the mix.

The closing moments of the bout saw Bate making a timely tag to Dunne who beautifully connected with the Birhimgamer double-team move and put down Pretty Deadly for the win.

With their win, New Catch Republic will now face Legado Del Fantasma, who won their qualifier match earlier in the night against the LWO in their quest to possibly win their first WWE tag team titles as a cohesive unit at The Showcase of the Immortals.
