Wes Lee has made a return to the squared circle after a period of recovery.

On the December 5, 2023 episode of WWE NXT, Lee announced his temporary departure from wrestling due to the need for back surgery. Initially, it was speculated that his absence could extend up to 12 months.

However, on Wednesday, March 13, Lee surprised fans by sharing video on social media showing him back in the ring for the first time since his injury. Accompanied by the caption “from the ashes,” Lee’s post hinted at his resilient spirit and determination to overcome adversity.

Lee’s last in-ring appearance prior to his hiatus was on the November 28, 2023 episode of WWE NXT, where he emerged victorious in a four-way match against Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes, and Johnny Gargano to become the number one contender for the NXT North American Championship.
