This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW had a lot of things in store for fans and that included the gauntlet match for the Intercontinental Championship. However, it appears WWE made some changes to the match.

In this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Ricochet, JD McDonagh, Sami Zayn, Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Chad Gable competed in a gauntlet match to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

Ultimately, Sami Zayn emerged victorious, securing his spot to face Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40. However, this outcome meant that Chad Gable did not win, leaving some fans disappointed.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the initial lineup for the Gauntlet matches differed from what unfolded on the show. Originally, the plan was for Reed to defeat Ricochet in the opening leg, followed by Sami Zayn beating Reed, McDonagh, and Nakamura, leading to a final showdown with Chad Gable.

However, the actual sequence began with Ricochet facing McDonagh, with Ricochet advancing and losing to Bronson Reed. Reed was then defeated by Sami Zayn, who went on to secure victories over Shinsuke Nakamura and Chad Gable to win the entire match.

Chad Gable also admitted that he feels directionless following his loss on Monday Night RAW. It remains to be seen whether Sami Zayn will end up defeating Gunther at the Show of Shows and become the new Intercontinental Champion.
