AEW continues to bolster its roster with top-tier talent, and the latest addition is the renowned Kazuchika Okada. After his debut on AEW Dynamite, initial reports surfaced regarding his annual earnings that became a point for Ryback to fire shots at his ex-employer, WWE.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, contradicted an initial report by Tokyo Sports, stating that Okada’s contract is significantly lower than the initially reported 2 billion yen ($13.5 million). While the exact amount remains undisclosed, it still represents a substantial contract for the acclaimed wrestler.

However, Ryback took to his X to use the discussion to lay a verbal assault on the global juggernaut. He stated that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon underpaid various wrestlers in the past.

Moreover, he also mentioned that WWE would lose more talent to AEW in the future and should improve their pay scale to retain their top stars and bring in new ones.

“Congratulations to Okada if the numbers being thrown out are remotely true. Wrestlers have been underpaid by @VinceMcMahon and the WWE for far too long and times are finally changing. WWE will lose more talents in the near future and in the long term, as AEW continues to grow and evolve while continuing to land top talents. WWE will be forced to improve pay and this is win-win for everyone in pro wrestling. No fans or wrestlers should ever hate on a talent making money and that’s the last bite! #Hungry.”

On the March 6th episode of AEW Dynamite, Okada made a memorable entrance, inserting himself into a confrontation between AEW Triple Crown champion Eddie Kingston and the Young Bucks, who also hold executive roles in AEW.

Contrary to expectations, Okada didn’t come to Kingston’s aid but surprised the audience by betraying the Triple Crown champion and aligning himself with Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, officially joining The Elite faction. So it will be interesting to see how his official AEW run unfolds with both EVPs themselves backing The Rainmaker.
