It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! The AEW Revolution go-home episode of Dynamite will go down tonight and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the February 28, 2024 episode.

AEW Dynamite Lineup (2/28/2024):

  • “The Icon” Sting will make his final appearance on the show

AEW Dynamite Results (2/28/2024):

The show opens up with “Hangman” Adam Page making his way down to the ring on crutches to address the fans and reveal his status for this Sunday’s AEW Revolution.

Page starts off by saying that it probably does not seem promising. Page then looks back on the beginning of AEW and says it was an opportunity for him. Page also looks back on winning the AEW World Championship in 2021 and says it hurts to have that opportunity in front of him and have this now in front of him. Page also says he had the wrong two competitors when he said the world title match should be a singles match. Page then tells the fans that at AEW Revolution he will not be able to compete.

Swerve Strickland then interrupts and brings up his feud with Hangman Page. Swerve says he did not expect this to happen. Swerve also says he respects what Page has accomplished in AEW. Strickland then says you can’t stop destiny and his destiny is to win the world title.

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe then makes his way out and says he is the real man around here. Joe also says Page and Strickland are hungry, but that is because he is starving them. Joe then promises to whoop both of their asses at Revolution. Strickland then discusses his road to this point and promises to win the gold, but Hangman attacks him from behind with a crutch. Hangman does not seem to be injured after all and says that Strickland will never win the title. Officials then check on Strickland as Page walks to the back.

We then get video footage from earlier today showing that The Young Bucks have arrived in the arena and they go ahead and speak with Renee Paquette. Paquette asks them about their meeting with Ric Flair and Nicholas Jackson says it went great. Matthew Jackson then says they want to thank Sting.

We then get the entrances for the first match of the night, which is a Trios Match.

Trios Match: Blackpool Combat Club (“The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and AEW Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston

The match starts off with Danielson and Kingston. Danielson immediately tags out and Castagnoli is now in the ring with Kingston. Harwood and Danielson then tag in and feel each other out. Wheeler then takes the fight to Moxley and both men trade head-butts. All four men then brawl and the fight spills out of the ring. Danielson and Castagnoli then double-team Wheeler. The BCC then gets the advantage and they isolate Wheeler, but he rallies and tags Harwood back in. Harwood then rallies and takes the fight to the Blackpool Combat Club.

Harwood then gets a number of pinfalls. Castagnoli then knocks Harwood down while Danielson distracts the referee. The two teams then brawl once again at ringside. Danielson then kicks Kingston. Harwood and Castagnoli then trade shits. Moxley then keeps Harwood grounded and the Blackpool Combat Club keeps him isolated from his corner. Harwood then breaks free and tags Kingston in. Kingston then takes the fight to Danielson and both men trade chops. Kingston then hits a suplex on Danielson, but is on a receiving end of a clothesline from Moxley. Kingston and Moxley then lands rights and lefts at each other. Castagnoli and Danielson then double-team Kingston. Moxley then hits Kingston with a piledriver. Danielson then hits his Busaiku knee finisher on Kingston and he puts Kingston in a triangle choke and Kingston passes out.

After the match, Danielson says he promises to choke Kingston out.

We then get a video package highlighting Chris Jericho’s career in CMLL. We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing Chris Jericho. Jericho looks back on his time working in CMLL and highlights Atlantis as his mentor and his friend. Jericho says he wanted to have a match with Atlantis Jr. to repay the favor. Jericho then says he will do just that and give him a lesson tonight.

“The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay then makes his way down to the ring to address the fans and Tony Schiavone is already there to interview him.

Tony Schiavone introduces Will Ospreay and Ospreay starts off by saying that his obligations in NJPW are done. Ospreay then makes fun of his own outfit and says he is in AEW for full-time work. Ospreay then discusses his past wins in AEW, including his victories over Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. Ospreay then says he is ready to pick up where he left off.

The Don Callis Family (Don Callis, Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita) then make their way down to the ring. Callis and Hobbs then hug Ospreay, but Takeshita does not. Callis then talks about the talent the group contains and says that he and Ospreay achieved all of this together. Callis then says Ospreay will have the match of the decade against Takeshita. Callis also says sometimes his group go hard against each other in practice in order to win titles. Callis then says the real winner between Ospreay and Takeshita will be The Don Callis Family. Ospreay then extends a handshake and Takeshita accepts it. Takeshita doesn’t let go and Ospreay gets in his face. Ospreay then talks some trash and The Don Callis Family leaves.

We then head backstage, where AEW Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston is being interviewed by Renee Paquette. Kingston is asked about his match against Bryan Danielson. The Young Bucks then interrupt and Nicholas Jackson says he has a bone to pick with Kingston. Nicholas then threatens to fine Kingston and Matthew Jackson tells Kingston to work on his presentation, then teases implementing a dress code.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the AEW International Championship Match.

AEW International Championship Match: “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Nick Wayne

The match starts off with Wayne and Cassidy feeling each other out. Wayne hits a hurricanrana on Cassidy and that sends Cassidy to the outside. Wayne then hits a moonsault on Cassidy. Cassidy then rolls to the outside from the ring and Wayne hits a second dive on the champion.

Christian Cage then trips Cassidy and distracts him. Wayne then kicks Cassidy to the outside and Cage is ejected from ringside as Wayne maintains the advantage in this matchup. Cassidy tries to get back into this match with a flurry of offense and hits Wayne with a DDT.

Wayne then hits Cassidy with a fisherman suplex and gets a two count. Cassidy then takes control of this match with a number of stomps. Wayne then counters the Orange Punch attempt from Cassidy, but Cassidy is able to hit the Beach Break for a two count. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett then make their way out and distract Cassidy. Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta then fight them off. Daniel Garcia then distracts Wayne and Cassidy hits his Orange Punch finisher on Wayne for the win.

After the match, Roderick Strong makes his way down to the ring and attacks Cassidy, buts Best Friends make the save and Strong runs to the back.

We then head backstage, where The Bang Bang Scissor Gang is asked about gelling together as a group. Austin Gunn says he has an idea and that is to team up with The Acclaimed. “Switchblade” Jay White then says he likes the idea and that everyone loves The Bang Bang Scissor Gang.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Kris Statlander vs. Skye Blue

The match starts off with Kris Statlander overpowering Skye Blue early on. Blue then briefly takes control and sends Statlander to the outside. Statlander then lifts Blue over her head and sends her into the fans.

Blue then takes over the match once they return to the ring. Statlander then tries to regain the advantage and gets a two count after hitting Blue with a powerslam. Statlander and Blue then trade shots and Statlander hits a suplex on Blue onto the apron. Willow Nightingale then gets in Hart’s face at ringside and Blue hits a Canadian Destroyer on Statlander to get a two count. Hathaway then hands Statlander some chains, but she doesn’t accept it. Hathaway then distracts the referee and Hart hits Statlander with the title. Blue then scores the pinfall victory on Statlander after hitting her Code Blue finisher.

We then head backstage, where The Young Bucks are able to locate Sting’s locker room. Matthew and Nicholas then enters the room and finds a bunch of baseball bats hanging upside down.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: “Lionheart” Chris Jericho vs. Atlantis Jr.

The match starts off with Jericho and Atlantis Jr. trading shots. Atlantis Jr. then hits a monkey flip and Jericho counters a second attempt, then looks for his Walls of Jericho finisher, but Atlantis Jr. manages to reach the ropes. Jericho then rips Atlantis Jr.’s mask and Atlantis Jr. responds by choking Jericho out with a towel while the referee isn’t looking. Atlantis Jr. then jumps onto Jericho and sends Jericho into the ring post. Jericho then counters a powerbomb attempt from Atlantis Jr. and sends Atlantis Jr. into the steel steps.

Jericho then takes control of the match and Atlantis Jr. tries to get back into it as he hits an arm drag off the second rope and gets a two count. Atlantis Jr. then hits a wheelbarrow German suplex on Jericho. Jericho then grabs Atlantis Jr. by his head and slams him off the top rope. Atlantis Jr. then hits a powerslam on Jericho and jumps on top of Jericho. Jericho then hits Atlantis Jr. with a hurricanrana and puts Atlantis Jr. in his Walls of Jericho finisher and Atlantis throws in the towel.

After the match, Chris Jericho and Atlantis checks on Atlantis Jr. and they celebrate together.

AEW EVPs The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) then make their way down to the ring to continue their search for “The Icon” Sting and to call him out.

The Young Bucks get in the faces of some fans wearing Sting masks in the front row. One of the fans unmask and it’s none other then Darby Allin. Allin goes after The Young Bucks, but The Young Bucks gain the advantage moments later and attack Allin with the baseball bats. The Young Bucks then hit the EVP Trigger and that brings “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair out.

Flair grabs a bat and he attacks The Young Bucks. Nicholas Jackson then hits a low blow on Flair. The Young Bucks then double-team on Flair and Sting’s music hits. The Young Bucks tries to escape as they walk up the ramp, but Sting comes down from the rafters. Sting hits The Young Bucks with a bat and Allin hits his Coffin Drop finisher. Sting then hits Nicholas Jackson with his Scorpion Death Drop finisher. “The Icon” Sting, Darby Allin and Ric Flair then stand tall as the show comes to a close.
