The journey of bringing wrestling icon Ric Flair’s life to the big screen is well underway, with Seven Bucks Productions spearheading the development of a compelling biopic.

Led by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson alongside Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, in collaboration with Kevin Misher of Misher Films, this project promises an insightful look into the life of the legendary Ric Flair. Notably, this collaboration between Misher Films and Seven Bucks Productions follows their successful partnership on “Fighting With My Family,” a film centered around WWE’s Paige.

Dwayne Johnson, expressing his deep admiration for Ric Flair, remarked, “As a kid immersed in the world of professional wrestling, I idolized ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. He was a hero to me.”

Ric Flair himself had hinted at the possibility of a biopic about his life last October. Now, with Seven Bucks Productions leading the charge, fans can eagerly await an immersive portrayal of one of wrestling’s most iconic figures.

Taking to Twitter to share his thoughts on the biopic, The Rock wrote:

“WOO! As a wild kid, who grew up in the wild world of professional wrestling, I idolized, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. He was one of my heroes. And once I broke into the wrestling business and began to spill my own sweat and blood in arenas across America – my reverence for Ric turned to great respect. Because I realized just how rare and almost impossible it is to truly disrupt the wrestling business, and truly change the game – and that’s exactly what Ric Flair did.

Ric Flair had a relentless passion to be the greatest of all time, but with achieving that GOAT status – he also sacrificed it all and paid a heavy price. And lived to tell the story.

I’ve known Ric since I was 8 years old when he and my dad, Rocky ‘Soulman’ Johnson were wrestling together in the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance)

This project is personal for me and we at @sevenbucksprod & #KevinMischer films can’t wait to tell his unbelievable story.

As always, ‘thank you for the house, Ric’ ~ people’s champ”

With Dwayne Johnson’s personal connection to Ric Flair and the shared passion of Seven Bucks Productions and Misher Films, the upcoming biopic promises to be a heartfelt tribute to a wrestling icon. As anticipation builds among fans, the film stands poised to deliver an unforgettable portrayal of Ric Flair’s extraordinary journey, capturing the essence of his larger-than-life persona both inside and outside the ring.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
