The Rock to Continue as Grand Marshal on Daytona 500 Despite Delay

The iconic Daytona 500 has been rescheduled for tomorrow due to inclement weather. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who was set to serve as the Grand Marshal for the event, expressed his disappointment over the delay but confirmed his presence for the rescheduled race.

Johnson shared in recent video his anticipation for the event and his understanding of the weather-related challenges. Despite not being able to signal the start of the race today, he remained engaged, interacting with race officials and sharing his experiences of visiting the raceway, including a nocturnal workout session that highlighted the dedication of the venue’s staff preparing for the race.

In addition to his involvement in the Daytona 500, Johnson also touched upon the exciting collaboration between the XFL and USFL, leading to the creation of the UFL, and its new broadcasting partnership with FOX, bringing more football action to fans.

Dave Meltzer of the Daily Update suggested that the postponement of the Daytona 500 could inadvertently boost the ratings for WWE SmackDown, potentially making it the highest-rated network television show for the week, a feat unprecedented in the long history of televised professional wrestling since 1947.

Scheduled for February 19th at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, the Daytona 500 is celebrated as one of the most esteemed events in American motorsports, drawing a large viewership both on-site and via television, as racers vie for the prestigious title of Daytona 500 champion.
