Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin had allied to ascend to the top of the NXT tag team division and they peaked right at the top with their recent success in WWE’s developmental territory.

The duo, collectively known as The Wolf Dogs started teaming up a while back and went on to win the prestigious Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. With their win, Corbin and Breakker earned themselves an opportunity at the tag team titles.

This week on NXT, they cashed in their right to challenge then-champions “The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. After a hard-fought battle, Breakker ended the bout with a thunderous spear on Stacks to win the NXT tag team championships for himself and Baron Corbin.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the win would still not have any effect on Bron Breakker’s upcoming main roster plans. Moreover, the tapings for next week’s edition saw the Good Brothers Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson arrive in NXT, potentially looking to be inserted in the tag title picture.

“Breakker & Corbin winning the NXT tag titles on 2/13 doesn’t mean they’ve slowed down on Breakker for the main roster. Breakker will play out his current storyline on NXT and then move to the main roster full-time. Gallows & Anderson debuted in NXT on the show that airs on 2/20 and look to be in the tag title picture there. It looks like Breakker & Corbin will first face Hudson & Chase but Anderson & Gallows laid out Hudson, Chase, Riley Osborne, Axiom and Frazer in the debut.

The report concluded NXT stars Andre Chase and Duke Hudson were looking to be next in line to challenge Corbiin and Breakker, but they were also laid out alongside other NXT superstars by the Good Brothers.
