CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE after ten years away from the company. He made it clear that he was back to fulfill his lifelong goal of main eventing WrestleMania and made his game plan to headline this year’s Show of Shows.

Punk competed in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match, but suffered an untimely triceps injury at the hands of Drew McIntyre. Moreover, he was eliminated at the end by Cody Rhodes who went on to win the match and the opportunity to headline WrestleMania.

The Best in the World announced on the following RAW that he would miss this year’s Showcase of the Immortals due to the injury suffered at the Royal Rumble event.

Punk recently took to his Instagram stories to showcase his journey from Day 1 of the surgery to Day 14. Punk showed being in the hospital for surgery, post-surgery recovery, attending rehab sessions, and spending time with his family.

Despite being out with an injury, it is expected that CM Punk would be involved in the WrestleMania 40 festivities in a non-wrestling role. We will have to wait and see how the former WWE champion figures into WWE’s plans for their premier event in Philadelphia.
