Matt Riddle came from the UFC world and that translated into some bad habits for him in WWE. After all, Riddle became a heat magnet and had issues with some notable names in WWE over the years. Now, Riddle disclosed why he felt he got heat with some WWE Superstars.

In case you weren’t aware, Matt Riddle and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg had a pretty rocky relationship as the two former WWE Superstars have shown their dislike for each other.

That’s not all as Riddle ended up having issues with Brock Lesnar in the past as well. To make matters worse, The Original Bro ended up having beef with Seth Rollins as well, which ended up making their eventual feud even better.

While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show podcast, Matt Riddle addressed the reports of him rubbing some wrestlers the wrong way, including Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins. He attributes the heat to his background in Mixed Martial Arts, where trash talk is common for promoting fights.

Riddle expressed confusion about the heightened sensitivity in professional wrestling, where he expected more flexibility given the scripted nature of the business. Despite this, he acknowledges that his words have been taken personally by some, leading to the heat he has experienced.

“I think it’s because I came from the world of Mixed Martial Arts,” Riddle said. “Even if you hear what fighters say to each other to get ticket sales, it’s ruthless. Even if you heard like, you know, Dillon Danis is talking to Logan Paul for their boxing match, he’s bringing a girl, this, that and the other thing. The fight game is ruthless, and honestly, I feel like I’m not that ruthless.”

“I’ll talk some trash here and there. I did, and in professional wrestling, unfortunately, you know, it’s confusing to me because I would think we do what we do, it’s kind of a work, that people would be more flexible with it, but instead, they take stuff way more personal, and every time I open my mouth, somebody takes something personal.”

Thankfully, Matt Riddle is now on good terms with all the aforementioned professional wrestlers. In fact, Riddle envisions future match with Goldberg in AEW one day. Nonetheless, Riddle simply didn’t rub everyone the right way and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
