Charlotte Flair and Asuka’s match a few weeks ago did not end the way anyone wanted it to. Flair was injured, and now she is out of action for a while.

Following the match, concerns arose among both fans and WWE talent. Rumors started churning that Charlotte Flair might have suffered an injury during the encounter. Flair was seen holding her knee and saying, “My knee!”

During the 12/15 episode of WWE SmackDown, it was revealed that Charlotte Flair will be out of action for 9 months. That will be a huge blow for the women’s division. It will also cost Flair a WrestleMania and possibly a SummerSlam.

PW Insider reports that Charlotte Flair is set to go under the knife between January 3rd and January 5th. This won’t be a two-day surgery, but it was unclear of the exact date. It is also assumed that her surgery will go down in Birmingham, Alabama.

Charlotte Flair’s knee surgery is scheduled for around the week of 1/3-1/5 in (I’d expect) Birmingham, Alabama.

WWE Superstars go to Birmingham Alabama for surgery for a reason. In choosing Birmingham, Alabama, and specifically Dr. James Andrews’ center, WWE Superstars have access to a medical team experienced in addressing the unique challenges and demands of their physically demanding profession.

Charlotte Flair just inked new contract extension. That deal is worth a ton of money, but she won’t be on the active roster right away. That being said, WWE has years left with The Queen.

We will have to see what happens next, but Charlotte Flair will probably be out of action for a while. We can only hope that she is able to use this time to focus on what she wants to do when that comeback date rolls around.
