Mike Santana’s AEW Status Despite Taking Indie Bookings

Mike Santana and Ortiz were once a great tag team, but their time as a tandem came to an end. There was heat between the two of them, and that led to a lot of questions about Santana’s future.

Mike Santana returned to AEW, but then he wasn’t used for while. He tweeted out displeasure about his use on AEW television, as it was six weeks since his last appearance.

Mike Santana is now taking dates on the indies. Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Santana is actually still with AEW, even though he is taking other dates.

Though he’s taking outside dates, we’re told that Santana is also still with AEW.

We will have to see if Tony Khan books Mike Santana for anything else down the line. He is going to have some indie dates in his future, but that doesn’t mean he’s done with AEW.
