CM Punk brought match to Madison Square Garden, but tons of fans were able to watch at home thanks to social media. That was quite an event, marking Punk’s first match back since 2014, and pirates were all over it.

CM Punk and Dominik Myserio’s match at Madison Square Garden packed the venue. It was also seen by a ton of fans online, whether WWE wanted that to be the case or not.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, bootleg videos of CM Punk’s in-ring return actually garnered a ton of views on YouTube. In fact, they have taken over social media with over 1 million combined views.

The CM Punk vs. Dominik match was viewed over 1 million times via pirated clips.

WWE has a history of doing everything they can to stop bootleg videos of their shows. There is a reason why they say that you shouldn’t video record the show prior to the event starting. CM Punk’s in-ring return was obviously enough for fans to take that risk.

We will have to see if CM Punk and Dominik Mysterio’s match at the KIA Forum on December 30th gets bootlegged like the MSG show was. If anything, it just goes to prove how popular CM Punk is.
