Conflicting Reports Regarding Cody Rhodes’ WWE Contract Status

Cody Rhodes is one mane that WWE doesn’t want to lose. Now, the situation around his contract is confusing, because we have conflicting reports. One thing that cannot be debated is WWE’s desire to keep The American Nightmare around.

It was previously reported by Dave Meltzer that Cody Rhodes signed a new WWE contract months ago. It appears that a contract was offered, but nothing has been signed yet.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall to say that Cody Rhodes’ new WWE contract was offered in October, but sources directly tied to Rhodes are claiming that a deal has not been signed yet.

Fightful reported Friday that WWE was looking to imminently re-sign him. This weekend, Wrestling Observer reported that a deal was signed in October, but sources close to Cody himself claim that there’s some confusion on that front.

It was also noted that a new WWE contract “is expected to be signed, and an agreement is in place.” We will have to see when that news is 100% confirmed.

There were WWE Superstars that were also under the impression Rhodes had re-signed, or was going to imminently. After all, he bought a new bus around Thanksgiving, leading many to believe that investment was tied to a new WWE deal.
