Matt Riddle became a controversial name in WWE because of his problematic actions outside the squared circle, which led to him getting released from the company. He is clearly setting up a busy 2024 as Riddle recently unveiled interesting plans for his pro wrestling career after his WWE tenure ended.
Matt Riddle officially confirmed WWE fired him back in September, and he almost immediately got interest from other wrestling promotions after his release. He also purchased new car and started his own business venture afterwards.
While speaking in interview with Muscle Man Malcolm during the Jake Paul vs Andre August boxing match, Matt Riddle talked about what plans he has now that his WWE career is over.
Matt Riddle made it clear that while he has MMA interests, pro wrestling is the way to go for him. Riddle then noted that he is interested in competing in New Japan Pro Wrestling somewhere down the line.
“I would say I am going to keep wrestling you know, I’m really good at it so probably keep doing that, do some things I haven’t done before.
“I haven’t wrestled in New Japan [Pro Wrestling] so that’s on the bucket list for 2024 amongst other things.
“I don’t know, Kenny [Omega] is hurt now, that was sad, I really wanted to wrestle him and after my release I thought that might be an opportunity…
Definitely excited, there’s tons of opponents out there.”
Jake Paul also rejected a high-stakes MMA bout with Matt Riddle. Riddle will also face RVD next year in the highly anticipated matchup. We’ll have to wait and see which major company he will end up in next.
